Meanwhile, Kai awoke to find her missing and the note she wrote. Kai couldn’t believe that he never noticed the signs of how Baby felt about his parents tragic death and her own parents tragic death. All night long, Kai searched the streets he thought Baby would be. As he knew she had no friends in Seoul he started to worry about her safety. “Where would she go?”, he thought as he was searching. But he couldn’t think of a place anywhere that Baby would hide like she did in Hong Kong. The next day, Kai reported Baby missing.
Baby eventually found an abandoned warehouse and made herself at home with the few things she had taken from a recycling bin. However, unbeknownst to her, a fellow student saw her and followed her to the warehouse. He was actually wondering why she was in his neighbourhood and then decided to follow her. While he was watching her make up her room with the few pieces of furniture she had found and bed sheets she hung up for curtains she could feel she was being watched. She pretended she needed to go out to find something else that he realised he would be discovered by her that he made a noise trying to hide. Just as Baby suspected that someone was hiding she grabbed his backpack as he tried to run and they both ended up falling on the floor. Then when she saw who he was she was both relieved and annoyed to see him.
Baby knew who he was as she had noticed him staring at her a lot in class. She also wondered why he would stare at her but he never spoke to her. His name was Cha Eunwoo and he was nicknamed the “Face Genius” of her school.
She asked, “Are you here alone?”, as she was worried that her hideout was now discovered so it would not be safe to stay. She would have to move on. He was flustered and blurted out, “You can’t be here”. Baby was annoyed now and asked him, “Why, are you the owner?”. He replied, “No, but I know you’ll be found here. It’s not safe”. Baby now was a little bewildered that he had found her here so she asked, “Have you been following me?”.
