Following the wind called you

I remember. When I was in middle school...
I can't remember how she was doing. Honestly, she wasn't someone I cared about much. I'd seen her cry occasionally, but I didn't know why, so I didn't really want to know. Of course, not now.

I stared blankly, and only then did Bom open her mouth. “Gu Junhoe, do you even remember me?” I truly only remembered. Since I couldn’t possibly have any memories with Bom, my name and face were all I could remember. “Hello, Bom,” I said, a belated greeting. Bom smiled brightly and started asking about my recent activities. But the fact that we were having this conversation at a bus stop… no matter how happy I was, it felt wrong, so I suggested we go to a nearby cafe. But Bom said something meaningful like, “No, it’s okay, we saw each other today. We’ll meet again, so let’s go to a cafe then,” and only then hurriedly tried to leave. I didn’t want to let her go. For some reason, my body reacted faster than I thought, so I grabbed Bom’s wrist and remained silent for five seconds. Bom turned, smiled once, and left. I couldn’t say anything, just watching Bom’s back. Bom truly vanished like the wind. I wanted to follow that wind called you.
