Meeting at a Cafe 2/2

Ding-

"Welcome!"

It's been a little over a week since Sugar came and went. I recall the excitement of that day, and each day at my part-time job feels more enjoyable. The manager, though he didn't know what was going on, said it was nice to see, and encouraged me to work hard with him before leaving the store first.

So, today again, I was humming a tune to myself as I heard a guest coming in, and as I finished washing the dishes and turned around, I was once again fortunate enough to see him in person.

"That tangerine tart isn't being delivered? It wasn't on the app."

"Ah.. we received complaints that the shape of the tarts was ruined during delivery."

So, the delivery isn't working... I bowed my head slightly and trailed off, pretending to be as apologetic as possible, but inside, I was cheering. I hope the three generations of customers who complained prosper! I don't know who you are, but I love you!

I barely managed to keep my mouth twitching as I slowly raised my head to see Sugar, who was wearing a black snapback today. I ended up laughing like an idiot when I saw him with his arms crossed and his eyes fixed on the menu, seemingly choosing something to eat.

I couldn't see his eyes because of the brim of his hat, but he seemed to lift his head slightly when he heard me laugh, so I quickly covered my face and spoke in a small voice, afraid that the other customers might hear.

"I'm sorry.. I'm just too much of a fan.. "

"Oh, yes. I know."

His casual remark made my heart stop for a moment. "I know," echoed in my head, and I felt as if I were lost in a fantasy of paradise. Now I understand why people report Min Yoongi.

I thanked him without even knowing what I was grateful for. I thought I heard his low chuckle, but as if it were my imagination, he ordered a tangerine tart and two iced Americanos and handed me his card. I accepted the card, paid slowly with a regretful gesture, and handed it over to him with a vibrating bell.

Unlike the first day he arrived, he sat with his legs crossed and fiddled with his phone. Today, he secretly added a few more tangerines to the tart, carefully brewed his coffee, and placed it in his carrier. Before pressing the buzzer, he picked up a nearby pen and scribbled a small note on the cup holder.

'Minsuga is the best'

I smiled proudly and rang the buzzer. He reluctantly accepted the tart and coffee, bowed in greeting, and left. I spent the day thinking about what to write in my diary, hoping Sugar would smile, even if only for a moment, upon seeing my handwriting.

Jiying-

'Hey, I'm going to go now. Do you want some coffee?'

His phone vibrated and flickered, and he checked it to see a KakaoTalk message from Hoseok asking if he wanted coffee. Yoongi fiddled with his phone, tilted his head, then quickly replied. He grabbed his coat and left the studio.

After a few minutes of walking, I arrived at the cafe where I'd purchased a tangerine tart a few days earlier. As a celebrity, I tried to avoid wandering around alone, as I didn't know if any malicious sasaengs might be watching. However, no matter how much I searched through the delivery app, I couldn't find the tangerine tart. After a moment of hesitation, I got up.

Ding-

Entering the cafe with the clear sound of the bell, I saw only two tables of customers, so I walked to the counter with relief, and then I heard the voice of the part-timer, who seemed even more cheerful than before.

Yoon-gi, who has trouble making eye contact, lowered his gaze slightly and asked the part-timer if the tangerine tarts were available for delivery. The part-timer, in turn, apologized for his question and offered an explanation.

Yun-gi was looking at the menu, arms crossed, wondering what kind of person would complain about something like that, when he suddenly heard laughter and raised his head slightly to see the part-timer putting his hand on his face and speaking in a panicked voice.

"I'm sorry.. I'm just too much of a fan.. "

"Oh, yes. I know."

Yoon-ki answered in a nonchalant voice, then suddenly felt embarrassed and quickly took out his card to place an order, but he heard "thank you" and he chuckled without realizing it.

Then, in a calm voice, he ordered two iced Americanos and a tangerine tart, sat down at a nearby table, and checked his phone, which had rang a little while ago.

Hoseok, perhaps worried that Yoongi was alone, said he was going to the cafe. Yoongi glanced at the back of the part-timer fidgeting, replied that he'd be out soon and told him to go to the studio, then put his phone in his pocket.

He rested his chin on his hand and recalled the situation just now. He felt dumbfounded, thinking he'd said something so outrageous. Then, recalling the part-timer's thanks, he smiled faintly.

Yoongi just found it cute and thankful to see him trying not to be a burden while showing off his fandom to the point of being visible.

I got up from my seat at the sound of the buzzer ringing, picked up a carrier containing coffee and a box of tarts, nodded, and walked towards the studio.

As Yoon-gi left the cafe, he thought, "I should at least get an autograph for you next time I come here," something the part-timer probably never imagined.
