Senior, don't play that piano • 1"Hey, don't be nervous. It's just school. School."
It feels like I've only just become an adult, but I can't believe I'm already entering college... I thought it was impossible, but the female protagonist's legs, trembling and showing no signs of stopping, sent tremors through her entire body.
The heroine, who felt herself getting nervous and flinched, looked around and walked away as if nothing had happened.
Welcome, freshmen at Seoul Demi University.
As she entered the main gate, which seemed to resemble the entrance to a simple Greek temple, her heart swelled with excitement at the sight of the large placards hanging from the cherry trees on either side of the main gate.
The excited female protagonist looked at the cherry blossom petals falling like snowflakes with a face full of joy.
On a warm spring day, with pink cherry blossoms in full bloom like popcorn, I couldn't help but feel excited as I set foot on university campus for the first time.
At the same time, a bitterness crept up deep within Yeoju, who should have been brimming with excitement. The reason was obvious. Yeoju had been accepted into Demi University alone, without any friends. She didn't have many friends, though. Still, she felt a bit wronged that she was the only one rejected while her friends had been paired up and accepted to the same school. Of course, she tried to forget it, insisting that her school was better than her friends'.
But in the end, she simply gave up and decided to accept the situation. She knew that nothing would change if she continued to suffer from it.
‘Is this it..?’
Demi University holds a special welcoming ceremony for new students every year. Yeoju had heard about it vaguely from her high school guidance teacher, but she didn't know exactly what kind of welcoming ceremony it was.
After being accepted to college, Yeoju saw the freshman orientation notice a month ago and wondered, "Is this the right one?"

Demi University Lea Hall
‘It’s not like it’s an elementary school..’
Yeoju was puzzled when she saw the welcome ceremony notice that felt like a school play she had in elementary school, but she was also curious about the school play that was unique to the university.
On the day written on the notice, the feeling of the welcome ceremony still lingered. The large hands of the tall clock tower next to Lea Hall pointed to 6:40 PM, and this late hour, inappropriate for a university entrance, amplified the discomfort and curiosity in Yeoju's heart.
The heroine, who entered the Lea Hall with various expectations that were not expectations, hesitated for a moment because she was quite surprised by the magnificent interior that was more magnificent than what she had seen from the outside.
Yeoju squeezed through the crowd that nearly filled this gigantic, whale-like space, barely managing to find a seat near the stage but near the edge. She then pulled out a book she'd been tucked away in her bag, intending to read it when she had time. The title was "Through My Eyes." Drawn by the simple yet subtly dreamy purple cover, she bought it, but she hasn't yet begun to properly read it.
Just as she was about to open the book and turn the pages, a pale purple that shone brighter than the cover, the torches illuminating the vast whale's belly went out. Deciding she'd failed to read the book this time, the heroine closed it, fumbled with her barely visible bag, and then turned her gaze to the stage, the only light illuminating the room.
“Welcome to everyone who will brighten Demi’s night even more.”
"For those of you who are more excited for the upcoming performance than I am, I won't say much. Please enjoy Demi's special night!"
A man who appeared to be the MC, wearing a suit decorated with ornate beads and a hat of the same design, gave a brief greeting as soon as he appeared on stage and then headed straight to a passageway that seemed to be connected to a waiting room next to the stage.
A few bewildered audience members murmured, but his unconcerned demeanor couldn't stop the laughter that erupted. The female protagonist, too, found herself chuckling involuntarily at the host's bold tone and gait.
But unlike the cheerful host, Yeoju wasn't particularly interested in the welcoming ceremony. The others seemed to share her sentiments, ignoring the stage and pretending to sleep or go to the bathroom, leaving the awkward atmosphere hanging in the air.
‘Me too… Should I just go out…?’
The heroine, who was slowly getting up from her seat while looking around, sat down again when the bright red wine-colored blackout curtain slowly rose and reached the end.

On the stage was a chic and clean brown grand piano.
