You probably had a lot of questions after seeing the summer, autumn, winter, and spring from before!
I’ll give a simple interpretation!
1. Why does it start with summer??
Normally, the four seasons go spring-summer-autumn-winter, right?
But I started a little differently! I wrote summer first.
This piece is about unrequited love.
It’s a piece that compares the emotions the speaker goes through in order while loving someone unrequitedly to the seasons.
In fact, unrequited love can begin slowly as a relationship builds, but it can also come suddenly, like a summer that gets hot all at once, right?
So I started with summer instead of spring!
2. The flow of the piece
The piece begins with summer.
The speaker compares the object of their unrequited love to a stinging summer.
They describe them as being so dazzling that they wouldn’t even be able to keep their eyes open.
They also say it’s so scorching that it leaves a painful wound on the skin.
Since the person they love doesn’t know how they feel, without thinking
just as the sun exists on Earth simply by existing, that person only stands there, but to the speaker it shines so brightly and still leaves a painful wound.
They’re impossible to catch, like a wavering heat haze.
Next is autumn.
I wrote it as if the object of the speaker’s unrequited love had noticed their feelings.
As summer passes, the days gradually get shorter and night comes.
The time they get to come to the speaker grows shorter and shorter.
Like autumn, which turns cold in an instant, their attitude grows colder and colder too.
The speaker’s face still turns red just from seeing the object of their unrequited love, but the other person ignores that feeling and tramples it.
For the speaker, that becomes too deep a wound.
Quickly passing through autumn, winter comes.
In winter, only coldness and pain remain in the end.
Like white breath disappearing, like a snowflake touching your hand and melting away in an instant, that person disappears.
So it feels like only winter will remain for the speaker forever.
But in the end, spring is bound to come, right? hehe
For the speaker too, the summer-autumn-winter that had passed is gradually forgotten, and even that pain fades far away, becoming a memory.
I wanted to express that as spring.
In the end, we meet spring again, and start love again, and we may get hurt too, but just as there is no eternal summer, there is no eternal winter either.
Neee!!
And that’s the end of the interpretation.
Thank you for reading this long piece
I’ll cheer on everyone experiencing unrequited love, and now the author will step back!
I hope you all find your own summer-autumn-winter-spring!
Thank you!!!
