Lip balm
A Choi Beomgyu possession fic

"Choi Beomgyu."
"What."
"Your lips are chapped again."
At my words, Beomgyu pouted slightly. He ran a finger over his lower lip, then shrugged as if it were no big deal.
"Really?"
"Not 'really'—put some lip balm on. Your lips are going to crack open."
"It doesn't hurt, though."
"So if it doesn't hurt, you don't have to put it on?"
"Yeah."
"You really are impossible."
When I stared at him in disbelief, Beomgyu let out a small laugh.
Then he turned his eyes back to his phone.
At this rate, his lips would get chapped all over again.
It wasn't the first or second time; every time his lips got dry,
I don't even know how many times I'd told him to put on lip balm.
And every time, his answer was always the same.
Okay. Later. Too much trouble.
In the end, I had no choice but to step in first again today.
I rummaged through my bag, took out the lip balm, and held it out in front of Beomgyu.
"Here. Put this on."
Beomgyu took his eyes off his phone and looked down at the lip balm.
"Is that yours?"
"Yeah. It's new, so use it."
"What about you?"
"I have another one."
"Ah."
Beomgyu took the lip balm. I watched quietly, thinking he'd finally apply it, but
instead of opening the cap, he was just spinning the tube around with his fingers.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing."
"Then put it on."
"Ah, too much work."
"Choi Beomgyu."
"Why again."
"Do you want me to hit you?"
When I glared at him, Beomgyu lifted the corners of his mouth like he was holding back a laugh.
"Okay, okay. I'm putting it on."
"You always just say okay."
"This time I mean it."
"Do you know how many times I've heard that?"
"No idea."
"Forget it. Give it here. I'll put it on for you."
I reached out to take back the lip balm Beomgyu was holding.
But Beomgyu slightly lifted the lip balm and avoided my hand.
"Why?"
"I'll do it."
"You said it was a hassle a second ago."
"I changed my mind."
"You're seriously weird."
I muttered under my breath and pulled my hand back.
And then it happened.
Beomgyu lightly caught my chin.
"Huh?"
My head tipped up a little at the sudden movement.
I looked at Beomgyu, wondering what he was about to say,
and his playful eyes were staring straight at me.
And then his face moved closer just like that.
Mwah.
Our lips touched briefly, then parted.
It happened so fast I could only blink.
Beomgyu casually let go of my chin, then
set down the lip balm he had been holding.
"I put it on."
"……What?"
"The lip balm."
"Hey, Choi Beomgyu!"
"What."
"What did you just do?"
"What do you mean? I put on lip balm."
Beomgyu answered calmly.
I was so dumbfounded I couldn't even speak.
The lip balm I had handed over was still sitting on the desk,
untouched and still with the cap on.
"How is that lip balm!"
"It's moist, isn't it."
"You seriously...!"
I grabbed the lip balm in my hand and hurled it hard at Beomgyu.
Beomgyu only laughed, not even looking hurt.
If anything, he tilted his head slightly as if my reaction was amusing.
"Why are you mad."
"Who told you to do it like that?"
"You said you'd put it on for me."
"When did I say that!"
"You just said you'd put it on yourself a little while ago."
"That was the lip balm...,!"
"Yeah. I know."
Knowing that and still doing it was even more infuriating.
I sighed and closed the lip balm cap.
"From now on, put it on yourself."
"Don't wanna."
"Why?"
Instead of answering, Beomgyu took the lip balm from my hand.
Then he placed it gently on my palm and smiled.
"I like it better when you put it on me."
"……."
"Why, you don't like it?"
His teasing voice dropped a little lower.
I fidgeted with the lip balm for no reason at all.
"...Even though you're always saying it's a hassle."
"Then from now on I'll say it's not a hassle."
"How am I supposed to believe that."
"Believe me."
Beomgyu rested his chin on my shoulder.
With his face so close, I had nowhere to look and turned my head slightly away.
"And."
"What."
"It's better when you do it."
"……Choi Beomgyu."
"Yeah."
"You're seriously annoying."
When I grumbled, Beomgyu gave a low laugh.
Then he took the lip balm from my hand again and opened the cap.
"This time I'm really going to put it on."
"All of a sudden?"
"Yeah. Since you're so worried about it."
Beomgyu slowly rubbed the lip balm onto his lower lip.
Normally he would have just pretended to apply it a few times and called it a day,
but today he was putting it on very carefully.
Only then did I feel satisfied and gave a small nod.
"Yeah. You should've done it like this from the start."
"But."
"What now."
"When I use this up, buy me another one."
"You buy it."
"Can't you pick one out for me?"
"Nope."
"Why."
"Too much trouble."
When I threw back exactly what Beomgyu had said earlier, he laughed out loud.
"Ah, seriously. You're copying me?"
"Am I?"
"You are."
"I don't care."
"...Tch."
There it was again.
In the end, I couldn't hold back my laughter and lowered my head.
Then Beomgyu peered at my face and asked,
"Why are you laughing?"
"I wasn't laughing."
"You were."
"I wasn't."
"You're cute."
"Ah, seriously!"
Beomgyu kept laughing for a long time even after hearing me complain.
Then, in a voice so small no one else could hear, he added,
"You really are wetter than the lip balm."
"Ah, Choi Beomgyu, seriously!!"
"Ah, why. It's a compliment."
Even today, dealing with Choi Beomgyu wasn't easy.
P.S. I hope I'm not the only one who likes you.
