I went to a special math lecture on Wednesday. It was a 9 a.m. class, so the teacher gave us some bread to cheer us up, and we started eating it. I was the first to finish the bread, so I started reading the special lecture book first. The other three kids started a few minutes later. But at first, I was solving them quickly, but as I went on, I got stuck on each problem. That's why I became slower than the kids. So while I was the only one frowning and struggling with the problems, the other kids were joking around with the teacher and quickly turning a few pages. I have a lot of pride in these things, so I was thinking to myself that I had to catch up quickly and moving on. While I was struggling with the problems, the kids were already finishing the work.... I was glancing at them by myself and blaming myself for being slow, but every time we solved a problem and got graded, I either got them all right or only a few wrong. I tried to feel better about that, but I slowed down and ended the class really badly. But as I was packing my bag, the math teacher said that it was okay to take it slow. She said that it was okay to be perfect even if you're slow, and that it was better than doing everything wrong by going fast. That really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes.
