In the ICU of S University Hospital,
a man lies unconscious, dependent on a ventilator.
Outside the glass, a woman watches him with tears welling in her eyes.
“Wake up already, you idiot... my dumb big brother.”
A tear rolls down her cheek,
but she quickly wipes it away with the back of her hand.
“I’ll hold on to your dream so it won’t run away. You have to wake up, okay?”
Clutching a brown envelope tightly to her chest,
she turns and walks away.
The only sound in the quiet hospital corridor is the faint click of her high heels.
“Jung Eun-ji, are you out of your mind?!”
A woman with short brown hair shouts at the expressionless Eun-ji,
who is sitting silently, still holding the same brown envelope.
“I know this is hard for you right now! But you're a girl!
You can’t possibly take your brother’s place!”
“Why not? Who says I can’t?”
“This is fraud! You’re lying to everyone!”
“I know, Bomi... but I have to do it.”
Bomi can no longer hold back her tears
as she watches Eun-ji speak in a cold, distant voice.
“Don’t worry. I can do this.”
Bomi breaks down, crying like a child,
forgetting they're even in a café.
Just then, a man in a crisp suit walks in.
Eun-ji stands up, envelope in hand.
“Seung-yoon, please look after Bomi.”
“Of course. Take care of yourself. And call if you need anything, okay?”
“Of course. And hey—don’t ditch me just because you two are dating now.
Bbom, thanks for crying for me. Really.”
Eun-ji’s calm goodbye and gentle smile
leave Bomi sobbing in Seung-yoon’s arms for a long time.
Three months later – In front of Pledis High School
A student stands in front of the gate,
his slightly shaggy hair pushed behind his ears.
He pounds his chest and takes a deep breath.
“You can do this. Jung Eu—
“… Jung Min-gi.”
