The sun shone brightly, and Yeoju's steps felt light as a feather as she headed to her weekend daycare volunteer work. The thought of meeting the adorable children at the daycare center brought a smile to Yeoju's face.
Squeak-
As she opened the door to the daycare center and entered, she saw a beautifully manicured garden with flowers and grass. Yeoju was excited, thinking, "I'm going to have fun playing in the garden with the kids today." As she headed toward the garden, the children's bright laughter rang out loud.
As she walked closer to the garden, wondering, "What is this? Is someone already playing?", she noticed a boy playing happily with the children.
A boy running like a retriever next to children whose smiles were purer and clearer than the dew on lotus leaves. I tried to see their faces, but it was difficult to see them because of their bodies moving around.
“Hey, you’re here, Yeoju?”
As the female protagonist was looking around to see the boy's face, the director of the daycare center approached her and greeted her.
“Oh! Hello! I came to volunteer again today. Who is that boy?”
“Ah! Jungkook, he’s around your age.. Oh, he goes to the same school as you?”
" ah..? "
The female protagonist's answer is filled with embarrassment. "I've heard that name somewhere..." she thinks, and runs towards the male student.
" excuse me…! "
When the female protagonist tapped his shoulder and spoke to him, the student turned his head sharply.
“Huh..? You were that punk back then..? Why are you here.. bro!”
When the female protagonist mentions the word gangster, Jeong-guk's eyes widen in embarrassment, and he quickly covers the female protagonist's mouth and runs to the back of the garden where there are no children.

“Huh.. Huh.. Hey, what are you doing!”
“Drink this and shut your mouth, please..!”
He stuffed Vita 500 into the mouth of the female protagonist and begged her to please shut her mouth with a desperate expression. She looked so desperate that I almost shut my mouth and became a dumbass, but I said, "Go away!"
The female protagonist asks questions with the thought that she can't stand being curious!!
“I’ll be quiet, but why are you volunteering here?”
“.. No, let me ask you one thing. Why are you here?”
“Huh? Well, I volunteer at a daycare center almost every weekend, so I’m here today too.”
“No, that’s why I’m asking why you volunteer?”
"Um... just? The kids are cute and just fun. What should I say? Seeing them laugh makes me feel like I'm being recharged with energy?"
As the female protagonist answers while thinking deeply, he chuckles and opens his mouth.
“Haha.. I remember what you said.”
“What did you say.. Remember or not.. So now you answer me too.”
“ … I actually grew up in an orphanage like these kids since I was little. My mom and dad gave birth to me by mistake when they were high school students, the same age as us now, and I was left in an orphanage.. So I just came to see the new kids and volunteer because I know their feelings better than anyone else. Is that the answer?
Jungkook speaks of his situation with a bitter expression. He looks truly miserable when he talks about himself, and he looks more depressed and sad than anyone else, but as soon as he finishes speaking, Jungkook returns to his expression as if asking what he's looking at.
“ … Did I ask something wrong? Hey.. I’m sorry.. ”
"Okay. Why are you feeling sorry about something like this? It was my parents' fault. You have no reason to feel sorry."
“.. Your name is Jungkook, right? Cheer up, Jungkook, I’ll always be by your side, okay? If you’re having a hard time, come and see me or not.. ”
The female protagonist pats Jungkook on the shoulder and offers a word of encouragement. However, she becomes so embarrassed that her face turns red and she runs out of the orphanage.
Jeongguk touches the shoulder that Yeoju had tapped and says.
