Chapter 7,
snack
It's been exactly a year since I met Jun-hwi, Myeong-ho, and Seung-gwan. I'm now 26. These thirteen demigods, half-human and half-beast, visited me on my boring, same-old-fashioned days, and I couldn't feel loneliness or sadness.
My parents, always busy, didn't take care of me or look after me when I was a student, so I'm grateful for nothing. But I'm grateful for this one thing: they gave me a spacious two-story house in my name.
Right now, I was dozing off on the sofa. Seungkwan, who looked like a hamster, was sleeping on my head, and Mingyu, who looked like a dog, was resting his head on my leg. Jeonghan, who looked like a cat, was playing with Jisoo, who also looked like a cat, next to me, and the other two cats seemed to be playing upstairs.
Two golden retrievers were frolicking in our spacious yard, while Myeong-ho, in human form, was reading a book. Soon-young, in fox form, and Jun-hwi, in desert fox form, were staring intently at Seung-gwan, the hamster sleeping on my head, while Seok-min and Chan-i, in human form, were watching TV.
"Two foxes, Seungkwan isn't eating. I gave you food earlier."
At my question, Jun-Hwi, who was still in the form of a desert fox, got up from the floor and spoke to me.
"What can I do, it's just instinct..."
"Don't do that, you guys should go outside and play like them. Our yard is big."
"Is that so? Moonjun, let's go."
As Jun-hwi and Sun-young went out into the yard, Seung-kwan, who had just woken up, came down from above my head, transformed into a human, and spoke to me.
"Master, I'm scared of them..."
"Were you pretending to be asleep?"

“Oh my, our hamster, Ilo and her sister will hug you.”

As I spread my arms, Seungkwan unhesitatingly embraced me. As I moved, Min-gyu, who had awakened from his slumber, assumed human form. He pulled me away from Seungkwan, who had been holding him, and then straightened my posture before falling asleep again in human form. Seungkwan and I chuckled at the sight of Min-gyu.

At about 4 p.m., four animals that had been playing outside came into the house and started rummaging through the refrigerator in human form.
"Why? Are you hungry?"
"Yeah, I'm hungry. Do you have anything to eat?"
"Just wait."
I carefully placed Min-gyu's head, which had been resting on my leg, on the cushion. Min-gyu, who had just woken up, followed me to the refrigerator. As I was rummaging through it, looking for something for the kids to eat, Min-gyu hugged my waist and leaned against me, stopping me from doing so.
"Can you take this off me?"
"I'll help you."
At my words, as if he had been waiting, Jun-hwi pulled Min-gyu away from me and threw him onto the sofa.
"Do you want some fruit? I can't give you much because I have to eat in two hours."

"Okay, just watch TV."
"Please open it quickly."
I came over to the TV with a knife and plate and sat down. Seokmin, who was watching TV with Chani, saw the knife and apple in my hand and offered to peel them himself. I didn't try to stop him, but watched him carefully to make sure he was peeling them well.
"I cut it all off. Ah-young, I did well."
Fortunately, Seokmin, who had peeled the apple well without getting hurt, gave it to the kids who were whining about being hungry.
"It's sweet. It's delicious."

"Please give me one more."
"Don't bother Seokmin, just make it yourself and eat it."

"Ayoung, don't pick up the knife. I'll cut it for you."

Wonwoo went over to Junhui, who was sitting on the sofa, and curled up next to him. He just meowed when he saw me chasing him. He knew I wouldn't understand because I was only human, so why did he meow so fervently?
"Aren't you going to the market? Are you eating?"

"I think he said he didn't want to go out?"
"Should I go with you instead of Wonwoo?"
I nodded in thanks to Jun-hwi's words and went down to my room on the first floor to prepare to leave.

"Then what should I eat?"
I looked around the mart with Jun-hwi and the cart. I couldn't quite remember what to order for dinner. But Jun-hwi had been putting something in the cart for a while. I looked at Jun-hwi and the cart, and it was full of snacks. When did I...

"Put it back where it belongs."
"...You came with me, but you can't even buy me this much..?"

After giving a warning, I handed the cart over to Jun-hwi and walked ahead. I'd left the cart with Jun-hwi because I wanted him to leave the snacks where they belonged.

Jun-hwi was a fox, but he looked as listless as a wet puppy.
"Go get them. But only bring five, because the others have to eat them too. Got it?"
