[Tomorrow X Together Yeonjun/ Yeonjun Soobin] Red Nest

[Yeonsup] Red Nest Episode 11

Only cold silence lingered in the yard where the clan’s elite unit had fled in panic.

Broken fragments of barrier stones and scattered silver talismans shimmered sadly in the moonlight.

Subin slowly sheathed the sword made of red magic. As the cold sensation left the tips of their fingers, Subin let out a long-held breath. At last, the immense burden of the clan that had constrained them for decades had shattered to pieces.

“...It’s over.”

Subin murmured softly, watching the afterimages of the Hunters recede into the distance.

Yeonjun lightly placed a hand on Subin’s shoulder from behind.

Yeonjun’s signature chill and deep rose scent gently enveloped Subin. Yeonjun turned Subin by the shoulder and met their gaze. In Yeonjun’s red eyes, a distant affection and a hidden sense of relief for Subin flickered.

“Do you regret it?”

Yeonjun asked.

“It’s your clan, and it’s where you grew up your whole life.”

“I don’t regret it.”

Subin shook their head without hesitation.

“There was no place for me there. More than a place that cast me aside, calling me a failure... I’m much more comfortable next to Yeonjun, where he stayed by my side and looked at me for who I am.”

At Subin’s calm confession, the corners of Yeonjun’s mouth curled up languidly.

Yeonjun roughly ruffled Subin’s hair, then took their hand and walked into the mansion.

After the battle, the mansion was quickly being put back in order. The butler and servants offered deep respect to their master’s perfect victory, and to Subin, who had been reborn as another powerful pure-blood ruler.

There were no longer any looks that saw Subin merely as a “human prisoner” or a “risk factor.”

Back in the bedroom, a heavy sense of relief hung between the two.

As the heat of battle subsided, Subin finally felt exhaustion wash over them.

Even with a vampire’s body, the mental strain after pouring out magic had not vanished.

When Subin plopped down on the edge of the bed, looking drained, Yeonjun quietly came to sit beside them.

“You worked hard today.”

Yeonjun said, patting Subin’s shoulder. Subin let out a faint laugh and lightly rested their head on Yeonjun’s shoulder.

“The clan members are all dealt with... but it still feels strange. I almost wonder if I was really Choi Subin of that Hunter clan.”

“You’re still Choi Subin. You’ve just become someone indispensable to my mansion.”

Yeonjun’s low voice gently soothed Subin’s heart.

At Yeonjun’s side, Subin could finally feel that they were truly protected.

It was recognition and warmth that no elder of the clan had ever given them.

Just then, the butler hurried up from the lower floor and knocked on the door.

“Yeonjun-nim, there are some documents you need to see for a moment.

A mysterious seal left behind as the Hunter clan withdrew has been discovered in the mountain range on the outskirts of the mansion.”

The battle with the clan was over, but the last remnants they left behind and a new mystery still remained.

Yeonjun and Subin looked at each other and quietly nodded. The final step toward the real “complete peace” they would have to work through together was waiting ahead.
