[Tomorrow X Together Yeonjun/ Yeonjun Soobin] Red Nest

[Yeonsup] Red Nest Episode 12

Deep in the mountain range beyond the mansion, the silver ritual inscription carved between the moss-covered cliffs was eerily flickering beneath the blood-red night sky.

It was the final tracking seal the family had left behind to monitor Yeonjun’s territory and trace Subeen’s whereabouts.

Subin stood before the cliff, quietly looking down at his own hand.

Until just a little while ago, it had been a hand that trembled under the family’s cold glares, unable to even properly hold a silver dagger.

But now, at the tips of that hand, the red magic gifted by pure-blooded blood was spreading richly, like the scent of jasmine.

“Should I do it?”

Yeonjun, who had walked up from behind, asked as he rested his neat chin on Subin’s shoulder.

The thick rose scent coming from Yeonjun gently wrapped itself all around Subin.

“No, I’ll do it. It’s the last thread that had bound me.”

Subin shook his head calmly and held out his hand.

The red magic that began at Subin’s fingertips gently enveloped the silver seal on the cliff.

Then Yeonjun laid his long hand over Subin’s and took hold of it.

As the two people’s magic formed a perfect wave and intertwined into one, the family’s seal, tightly shut for years, shattered silently into pieces and flew off into the air.

It was the moment when even the last trace the family had long used as leverage was completely erased.

Now no one could recklessly invade Yeonjun’s territory, and no one could bind the existence called Subin with the family’s rules.

Swish-

The 3rd District’s night forest, seen from the top of the mountain range, was wrapped in night fog and unnaturally quiet and calm.

“It’s really... all over.”

Subin murmured softly into the night wind.

In Subin’s red eyes, swayed by the wind, there was no longer any trace of the inferiority or bitter memories he had felt in the family’s past. There was only the firmness and peace finally completed in the arms of a predator.

Yeonjun calmly straightened the coat draped over Subin’s shoulders, then found Subin’s thick-knuckled hand and laced their fingers together one by one.

A cool touch pleasantly seeped between his fingers.

“How do you feel, Choi Subin?”

Yeonjun asked, looking at Subin’s profile with tender eyes.

“More calm than I thought. It was pain that tormented and crushed me my whole life...

But now that I’m holding hands with you, Yeonjun, it feels like nothing at all.”

“If you’d been alone, it would’ve kept hurting. But you’re not alone anymore.”

At Yeonjun’s words, Subin couldn’t hold back and let out a small laugh.

When he first came into this 3rd District on his own two feet, he had been a pitiful underachiever who was ready to throw away his life just to be recognized, but now he had become the most perfect and free existence beside the ruler of the night.

“You’re right, Yeonjun. Rather than dying as the family’s disgrace, living through eternity beside you at night was the best choice of my life.”

At Subin’s heartfelt confession, the corners of Yeonjun’s lips curled up lazily and elegantly.

Yeonjun tightened his grip on the hand he held and gently pressed his forehead against Subin’s. The two red eyes reflected each other from very close range.

“The vampires’ eternity is actually pretty long and boring.”

Yeonjun murmured low.

“You’ll have to keep entertaining me so I don’t get bored. As my roommate, and as my one and only half.”

“I’ll make sure you don’t even have time to feel bored, Yeonjun.”

As Subin answered playfully, Yeonjun gave a snort of a laugh and gently rubbed the reddened tip of Subin’s ear with his finger.

The many barriers and trials that had stood between the two of them were over, and their cool body heat filled one another in the night air until they became wholly one.

On the long, quiet road back to the mansion, the moonlight left long shadows with every step the two of them took together.

From a strange confrontation between predator and prey, beyond the extreme incompatibility of hunter and vampire, the two had finally become each other’s only salvation and eternity.

The long, cold night of wandering came to an end, and the eternal peace Yeonjun and Subin would write together was finally beginning, deep and warmly.
