I finally didn't find an answer until the red glow of the sunset. I spent the whole day focused on it, formulating various hypotheses, but I came up with nothing. Could it just be a passing fading? It was hard to even think about it any further. Focusing solely on this without doing my own work left me exhausted and worried.
To clear my head, I headed to the beach, a short distance from home. Perhaps because the weather hadn't completely cleared, the cold air enveloped my entire body. But I ignored it and focused my attention on the waves.
The blue sea, engulfed by the crimson sunset, the sea swallowing up all the sunset's colors, somehow comforted me. My vision, once narrowed to "murder," gradually broadened, and several hypotheses began to surface. While previous theories had been far-fetched, like murder or disappearance, this time, they seemed quite plausible.
My boyfriend had quite a few friends, and as a result, he spent a lot of time hanging out. So, he made plans with a friend this time, and because it was a last-minute arrangement, he left without telling me. For some reason, his phone wasn't working, so he couldn't contact me. He took a friend's car, and when he arrived, his phone wasn't working, so he still can't reach me.
But if that were the case, he would have contacted me on his friend's phone. Not everyone there would have had a broken phone. But what if it was somewhere with no signal? These days, that's rare, but if my boyfriend, who always wanted to enjoy nature, was somewhere deep in the countryside, it's quite possible he went.
As I was gathering my thoughts, the sun had completely set, and the moon, carrying the weight of the sky, shone brightly. Even though it didn't emit its own light, the moon seemed burdened, carrying the weight of the dark, vast sky on its own. It felt like a reflection of myself.
This incident completely turned my plans and my life upside down. I wish my boyfriend would come to me a few days later with a smile on his face. In reality, not a dream. Or maybe I just hoped this was a dream. Just a long, long nightmare. When I wake from this long nightmare, my boyfriend will be there to greet me.
