We decided not to cross the line (Season 2)

Episode 29. Drunken Hunji

It was a busy Monday from the morning.

Because it was the day I had to go to the film company for work,

I went out to the cafe early and finished getting it ready to open.

As soon as Jisung got to work,

I headed off to the film company.

Because of the staff I met last night, maybe,

the rumor that Director Kim and I were dating

had spread everywhere.

Everyone I ran into

asked me one question after another,

so much that I was overwhelmed.

The person in charge who had explained my work to me at the beginning

asked me,

"Hoonji, wasn't your former agency Kim's company?"

"Yes... that's right. It was."

"So the writer must have known Hoonji?

You praised Hoonji to the director last time, remember."

"Ah... that wasn't because we knew each other

but because I knew Hoonji's skills,

that's what I was saying."

"But when Hoonji was at that agency,

there was a rumor that you were dating an English teacher,

was that true?"

I was momentarily flustered by the unexpected question.

"That English teacher... was me."

The person in charge looked shocked.

"What?"

"But that rumor wasn't true."

"Ah... well...

the writer is dating the president, so

that wouldn't make sense..."

I smiled awkwardly.

The fact that I hadn't been dating Director Kim

for very long

was something I didn't bother to mention.

After finishing work at the film company

I was on my way back to the cafe.

Director Kim called me.

"Taehyung?"

"Oh~ where are you?"

"I went to the film company for work, and I'm on my way

back to the cafe."

"Why?"

"There was a lot of chatter at the film company, right?"

"Uh... there was a ton of it..."

"I guess I shouldn't have told people.

I wanted to brag about it, but

I think I made things tiring for you..."

"It already happened, so what can you do...

They'll calm down eventually.

Don't worry about it. I'm fine."

"Did you have lunch?"

"Yeah. I ate something simple while working earlier.

What about you, Taehyung?"

"I ate too.

I ate with the staff at that tonkatsu place you and I went to today.

It made me think of you"

"Really?

Now that you mention it, I want tonkatsu."

"Should I pack some up and bring it to you tonight?"

"Tonkatsu is best when you eat it fresh out of the pan."

"Then come by whenever you have time during the week.

We can go together."

"Yeah. I'll call ahead and come."

"Yeah. Get home safe. I'll call you again"

"Bye."

When I arrived at the cafe,

since lunch was already over, the backlog of orders and

the dishes had piled up all at once.

Jisung and I worked hard to handle the orders first

and were washing dishes when

Woojin came in through the door.

"Hello? Woojin.

Would you like a warm Americano?"

"Yes. Please.

Did you confess properly?"

"Ah... that confession... didn't go well."

I said with a forced smile.

"Ah... I shouldn't have brought it up."

"That confession didn't go well, but...

I ended up meeting a friend I've known for a long time."

"You said it didn't go well, so

I was quietly hoping a little... hehe"

"You'll meet someone even more wonderful, Woojin. Well..."

"Do you think so?"

"Of course. I'll pray that you definitely meet a woman who likes Daisy.

"

After Woojin left,

I sent Director Kim a message.

[Taehyung!

Do you happen to know a song called Daisy?]

[No. What song is it?]

[Aww... so you don't know it...

I asked because I have this dream of walking together

with someone who likes this song. hehe]

[If it's a song you like,

I'll make sure to find it and listen.

I don't really have any preferences.

I'll match whatever you like.]

Between someone with strong preferences

and someone who adjusts everything to me,

which kind of relationship would be happier?

That afternoon passed in a blur

because of the cafe work.

After closing the cafe doors,

I worked a little more on the adaptation before heading home from work.

In front of the apartment gate, the taxi driver

was at his wit's end because of a drunk passenger.

While I happened to look at the passenger in the back seat,

I was startled by a familiar face.

It was Hoonji.

I ran toward the taxi in a hurry.

"Driver. I know this person.

Sorry, but could you help me support him?

I'll give you a bit more for the fare. Sorry."

Before someone could recognize him,

I supported Hoonji

and quickly took him up to my place.

I laid Hoonji down on the sofa

and stared at his face for a long while.

'You're not someone who drinks this much...'

I sat in front of him

and carefully brushed back his tousled hair.

That was when it happened.

He grabbed my hand.

"At this rate... should we go back to Spain again?"
