We decided not to cross the line (Season 2)

Episode 47. Face-to-face with her

The weekend had come.

Today was the day we’d decided to go to the baseball stadium,

and I’d been in a great mood since morning.

I met Woojin at the cafe entrance.

He had brought an extra jersey

of the team he supported.

Handing me the jersey, he said,

"You can just throw it over

the T-shirt you’re wearing now."

"Wow~ this really puts me in a good mood!!"

To prepare for the traffic,

we left early.

He asked me excitedly,

"What should we eat at the ballpark?"

"What do you eat at a baseball stadium?"

"Jung-ah, you really have never been to a ballpark before.

What they sell there is so good."

"What do they sell?"

"The menu is really varied.

Just go and pick something."

"Wow... so there was another world like this!"

When we arrived at the stadium,

just as baseball fanatic Woojin had recommended,

we chose our food and headed to the seats we’d reserved.

Once the game started,

I felt like Alice or Dorothy

who had come to a world I’d never known existed.

Singing cheers with the crowd,

clapping,

and cheering in time with the cheerleaders’ moves.

It was all new to me.

"Woojin! Thank you!

If it weren’t for you,

I might have gone through life

without ever knowing there was such a fun world.

This is so much fun."

"Seeing Jung-ah enjoy herself this much

makes it even more rewarding for me."

That day, the team Woojin supported

won the game.

"Wow!! I’m seriously in the best mood today!!

I came here not expecting much at all!"

"Congratulations!! ㅎ"

"Should we have another celebratory drink?"

"Yes. Sounds great!!"

We came back to the cafe feeling at ease,

ordered some delivery food and beer,

and decided to have another drink.

"It kind of feels like a hideout?"

"Right?

Since I opened the cafe, this is the most rewarding day for me.

It can even be used as a hideout.ㅎ"

We were quenching our thirst with a glass of ade each,

taking a breather.

Then I heard the cafe door open.

A pretty woman came in.

At first I thought she was a sales rep

and assumed she was a customer who’d come in.

"Since it’s Sunday today..."

The woman walked up to me and said,

"You know Park Hoonji, right?"

The moment I heard Hoonji’s name from her mouth,

I had a feeling I knew who she was.

"Yes..."

I slowly walked up to her.

"But what brings you here..."

She looked me up and down

and said coldly,

"Why do you call people over and then mess with their feelings?

Who do you think you are?"

"There must be some misunderstanding..."

Suddenly, she raised her arm

and slapped my cheek.

[Smack!!!]

Woojin, who had been sitting in a chair,

jumped up in shock and shouted,

"Jung-ah! "

Woojin quickly came over to my side

and stood in front of her.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

And then it happened.

Hoonji came into the cafe.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

As soon as she saw Hoonji,

her panic was obvious.

I was confused and

didn’t understand what was going on,

and I felt humiliated.

Hoonji came straight over to me and asked,

"Are you okay?

Are you hurt?"

I was holding my palm to my stinging cheek.

The moment I took my hand away,

Hoonji turned to her and yelled,

"What the hell do you think you’re doing?"

"You’re bleeding...

Jung-ah, sit here."

"Oppa!! Why are you taking care of that woman right now?

I’m the one who’s angry because of her!!"

Hoonji sat me down in a chair

and quietly said,

"I’ll sort this out and come back.

I’m sorry. Really..."

Hoonji grabbed her arm

and took her outside the cafe.

Woojin was at a loss, then

he took ice from the freezer

and made an ice pack to bring over.

"Jung-ah. Hold this to your cheek here.

It looks like it’ll swell up a lot."

"Yes... thank you."

In the end, tears welled up in my eyes.

'Why on earth is this happening to me...’

But with Woojin beside me,

I couldn’t even cry out loud.

"Woojin.

Sorry, but...

I think you should head home for today.

It’s so embarrassing

for me to be seen like this."

"Yes... I understand.

I’ll go first.

But don’t be too embarrassed.

I didn’t see anything today."

"I need you..."
