We decided not to cross the line (Season 2)

Episode 53. Princess

"Are you going to open the door?"

I, flustered,

asked Hoonji.

"We should open it.

How could we not?

And hyung even knows the passcode."

"Ah... it's our first time meeting,

and I'm dressed like this,

and I haven't even finished cooking yet..."

Because I was cooking, I was a mess

and so was the kitchen.

"It's okay. They'll understand."

Hoonji opened the front door.

I heard the door open.

"Hey! Park Hoonji.

Why is it taking you so long to open one door?"

"Aren't you coming out when the hyungs are here?"

"Hyungs?"

I looked at Hoonji with wide, surprised eyes.

"Wait, I only saw your brother earlier?"

"Huh? Whose shoes are these?

Aren't they women's shoes?"

"Hyung. Looks like he's here with a woman?"

As soon as the hyung came into the living room

our eyes met instantly.

"Wh...who are you?"

Right after that, another man

followed him in.

"Oh? Seongwoo, what brings you here?"

"You said you were off today, so

I came to hang out.

I ran into your brother on the first floor and came in with him.

But... who is this?"

I greeted the two of them.

"Hello?"

"Ah... hyung, Seongwoo.

She's my girlfriend.

I told you, didn't I?"

"Ah... that Jeong-a?

Nice to meet you. I'm Hoonji's hyung."

"Nice to meet you."

"Hello. I'm Hoonji's friend.

But... the way to address you...

what should I call you...?

Jeong-a? noona? nuna?"

I couldn't say anything

and just stood there awkwardly.

The other two were also only stealing glances at each other

and said nothing.

Then it happened.

Hoonji shouted loudly.

"Princess!"

I jumped and looked at Hoonji.

"Hoonji. What do you mean, princess?"

I didn't know what to do with my embarrassment.

"Yeah. Princess. That's fine."

"Right... let's call her that.

Princess. Nice."

"Hoonji. Stop it."

"Why? All women are princesses.

Right?"

"Yeah. Right. We're fine with that.

Princess."

'Ha... seriously, Park Hoonji... '

"Princess. Let's cook quickly."

Hoonji led me into the kitchen

and,

turning back to his friend and hyung, said,

"Since I'm off today,

I cooked

and was going to invite Jeong-a, or rather Princess,

but the food still isn't done.

We can all eat together."

The meal Hoonji said he'd make for me

had somehow turned into

a test of my cooking skills.

Since I'd bought ingredients thinking of pasta, gambas, and salmon salad,

I started cooking them one by one.

"Hoonji, could you go stand over there for a bit?

You keep getting in the way when I'm moving around."

"Princess.

I'm the main chef today.

What am I supposed to do if you tell me to get lost?"

Hoonji's hyung and friend were waiting in the living room, and

whether Hoonji was cooking

or just getting in the way beside me,

it was a total chaos party.

On top of not being very good at cooking,

the thought that someone was waiting

made me even less efficient.

Another 30 minutes or so passed.

Having come with a light heart,

I finally plated the food

with a heavy heart.

I waited for the three of them

to try it.

The three of them lifted their forks at the same time

and each took a bite of the pasta.

"Mm...." / "Uh..." / "Wow...."

"Hoonji, how is it?"

"It's delicious!

Hyung, right? It's good, isn't it?"

"Yeah. It's tasty.

It suits my taste perfectly."

Hoonji piled a generous amount of pasta

onto the other two men's plates.

"Seongwoo, you said you were hungry earlier, right?

Eat a lot, you punk."

"Didn't you say you were hungry earlier too, hyung?

I'll give you more too."

Between the pasta and gambas, all three of them

cleaned their plates, so I didn't even get to taste it.

"Because of us, Princess doesn't have anything to eat.

Princess, at least eat the salmon salad."

Hoonji scooped some salad onto my plate.

I couldn't help feeling disappointed.

'I worked hard to cook,

and everyone ate it except me... '

I picked up a little of the

leftover pasta sauce on Hoonji's plate with a spoon.

Then I set the spoon down without a word.

'I put in too much salt... '

I looked at Hoonji with a lingering gaze.

"Why are you so nice to everyone?"
