We decided not to cross the line (Season 2)

Episode 90. Hoonji's secret technique

"Hoonji. Where are you right now?"

"At Jeonga’s house bathroom.

I called because I thought you'd worry."

"Are you okay?

Have you heard any upsetting noises or anything?"

"Not at all. Don't worry."

"Hoonji. Did you take your car?"

"No. The manager hyung dropped me off and left."

"Then I’ll head out now.

I’ll come rescue you so you can escape.

Your Princess Hoonji!!"

"Yes~~ Prince Seomoneom!!"

I didn’t want Hoonji to be stuck any longer

so I hurried to my mom’s house.

And I brought him out safely.

In the car on the way home.

Hoonji had passed out.

'How tense must he have been...'

As we sat stopped at a red light for a moment,

I looked at his sleeping face.

My heart ached for him.

When I arrived at the parking lot,

I woke Hoonji up.

"Princess. Wake up.

We're home."

"Ah~~ I slept well.

Thanks, Prince.

Let's hurry and go inside."

While he was in the shower,

I made honey water.

"Hoonji. Drink this."

"This time, it's Princess who made the honey water."

He smiled at me as he looked my way.

I brought him into the living room

and had him sit on the sofa.

"Tell me quickly.

How was it?"

"When I went in alone,

I think both of them were a little surprised.

For my mother’s gift,

I prepared a purple bouquet and a scarf.

When she saw the bouquet,

she seemed to really love it.

And for my father’s gift,

I brought some liquor."

"When did you prepare that?

You didn't even have time for that."

"When I had a break in the middle of filming,

I went to the department store for a bit."

"Aww... how adorable..."

I stroked his head.

"Since Father only had daughters,

he didn’t have anyone to drink with,

and because his oldest son-in-law also can’t drink,

he said he felt a little disappointed.

So I braced myself

and drank with him."

"Hoonji, you’re not great with alcohol either, are you?"

"I was fighting to stay awake because I was so sleepy."

As if telling an adventure story, Hoonji

went on speaking with sparkling eyes.

"Since neither of them fully opened their hearts,

I used my secret weapon."

"Secret weapon? What secret weapon did you use, Hoonji?"

"A secret weapon for adults!!

I practiced trot before going."

"Trot???"

"Yeah. Do you remember when Jeonga once said

her mother likes Park Seojin’s songs?"

"I don't know. Did I say that?"

"I mentioned it once while watching TV.

So I picked one of Park Seojin’s songs

and practiced it beforehand.

Right when the two of them were starting to open up,

I sang it for them."

"You did? Trot?"

"Yeah. And then the game was over!!"

"Wow~~~

You even prepared

an unexpected secret weapon!!!"

"Mmm... pretty. My summer."

I was so happy that I hugged him tightly.

He kept speaking while staying in my arms.

"But there’s a condition."

I pulled slightly away from him and asked,

"What condition?"

"If I get permission from my family within three months,

they said they’ll approve the lessons.

No matter how pretty I am,

they can’t stand seeing Jeonga being treated like cold rice

at our house."

"Within three months?"

Hoonji pulled me into his arms again.

"I’ll definitely get permission within three months.

Don’t worry about our Seomoneom.

Okay?"

"But Hoonji...

today your older sister sent a text asking

whether Hoonji and I are living together.

When I said no because you said no,

I said no too, but...

if we get caught, we’re in big trouble."

"I should go make a mess at home and come back."

He smiled like a troublemaker.

"I... I guess I’m so relaxed now

that I’m getting really sleepy."

"Princess. Come here.

I’ll cover you with a blanket."

I brought him into the bedroom,

laid him down, and covered him with the blanket.

"You worked so hard today.

And... thank you, Hoonji."

I gave him a kiss on the forehead

and was about to turn off the lights and leave.

"Oh, right, Jeonga."

"Yes?"

"Father said he wanted to make me his youngest son."

"Really? Dad actually said that?

Dad's favorite is me...

Hoonji must really have liked you."

I closed the bedroom door and went back to the living room.

After being tense all day,

I finally felt at ease.

The next morning.

I left the house with Hoonji.

He headed to the filming set,

and I headed to the cafe.

Today I had translation work

with a deadline to meet.

I left the cafe work to Jiseong,

and spent the whole day at my chair, immersed in translation.

As the afternoon went by,

and Jiseong was finishing up

before clocking out,

the cafe door opened.

Soon after, Jiseong called out to me.

"Boss..."

"Yes?"

"I think you have a customer."

"My customer?"

I took my eyes off the laptop monitor

and turned toward the door.

It was Hoonji’s older sister, standing there.

I sprang to my feet.

"Jiseong. I'll finish up, so

clock out now."

I sent Jiseong home first.

"Please sit over here."

"Sorry.

I didn't want to come to your workplace...

but there’s something I wanted to confirm."

"What do you want to confirm...?"

"Are Hoonji and Jeonga definitely

not living together?"

"My greed?

That... was something I said to Taehyung..."
