Who is Seoul, the faceless singer?

Chapter 6. EP15: A University in Seoul (1)

Taehyung, leaving his regrets behind and returning home, changed his clothes and went straight to YouTube. Entering the channel, Taehyung began checking to see if he had missed anything. He entered the channel's community and searched for more detailed information. Taehyung slowly looked through each post and stopped at a certain post in the community.

The most important information I found in this article is that the singer's birthplace and current residence are both in Seoul. Taehyung was delighted that the scope of his activities had been narrowed down from Korea to Seoul. Finding him within Seoul would be much easier.

And so Taehyung's reasoning began again.

If singer Seoul lives in Seoul, there is a high possibility that she is a college student attending a university in Seoul. Even though we don't know her exact age, judging from her voice and physique in the video, she is in her early 20s. First, we decide to find all the universities in Seoul that have practical music departments and visit them one by one. As of now, the most certain evidence is the clear scar on the back of her left hand, so the first thing to do is to check the back of the college student's left hand. If there is a scar on the back of her left hand similar to that of singer Seoul, the second thing to do is to check her voice. After hearing how similar her voice is to Seoul, we can get permission and do a voice confirmation test like we did with Seol Juna.

Taehyung, with a satisfied smile on his face at the rather decent method, sends a text to Hanbit. It was already late, so calling would have been rude.

Recipient: Hanbit

It's late, so I'm sending this as a text. I found information that the singer Seoul was born in Seoul and currently lives there. Tomorrow, I plan to find all the universities in Seoul that have practical music departments.

After texting Hanbit, Taehyung rummaged through the kitchen, desperately trying to satisfy his belated hunger. Perhaps because he lives alone, all he found was a single pack of ramen.

“I need to buy something at the supermarket tomorrow.”

His mother occasionally visited him, bringing him various side dishes, but Taehyung, feeling guilty, would scold him, asking why he had to go through all that trouble. Perhaps hurt by those words, his mother hadn't visited for months. Taehyung, filled with guilt, perhaps thinking he'd been too harsh, felt even more remorseful, and the more he felt this way, the more he couldn't call his mother.

Taehyung, who had just finished boiling his one and only bowl of ramen, checked the phone on the living room table to see if he'd received a text reply from Hanbit. While he was still boiling the ramen, Hanbit's reply arrived, and Taehyung quickly checked the text.

Sender: Hanbit

I had no idea singer Seoul actually lived in Seoul. Tomorrow, are you only looking for universities in Seoul with music departments?

Recipient: Hanbit

After finding them, we'll have to go back and find them one by one. Our goal is to quickly reveal the identity of singer Seoul.

As if waiting for Taehyung's reply, Hanbit's reply came as soon as Taehyung sent it.

Sender: Hanbit

Thank you for your hard work, Taehyung. You must be very tired today. I hope you didn't just eat ramen?

In response to Hanbit's reply, the ramen I was eating sounded like a joke.Taehyung was surprised at how accurately he spoke, as if he was looking at himself from somewhere.

Recipient: Hanbit

Of course. I worked hard, so I had a hearty dinner. Are you going to college with me tomorrow?

Taehyung knew full well that reporters aren't usually busy people. In fact, he'd been concerned about having Hanbit join him in his work. He was a detective, after all, and he didn't want to appear so incompetent.

Sender: Hanbit

I don't think I can go with you tomorrow because I have something important to do at work. I'm sorry.

Recipient: Hanbit

I just wanted to let you know that if you're busy, you don't have to come to Singer Seoul with me. I don't want to drag Hanbit, who's already busy, into my own work.

Sender: Hanbit

Thank you for saying that, Taehyung. I still visit Singer Seoul whenever I have time, and I really want to help.

‘If you do that, you are always welcome.’The conversation between these two ended with this reply.‘If you speak kindly, you will receive kind words in return.’As the saying goes, Taehyung and Hanbit had a pleasant conversation. Since he needed stamina to walk around Seoul tomorrow to find Singer Seoul, Taehyung quickly ate the ramen he had eaten while exchanging text messages with Hanbit, washed up, and went to bed.
