Would you like to start over?

Episode 1: That's the Problem

With a faint groan, Jeongguk awoke from the deep dream that had been plaguing him. His dimly opened eyes revealed a room surrounded by white. A hospital room, to be precise. "Am I alive?" was the first thought that came to mind. He'd clearly saved a child, been hit by a truck, and collapsed on the cold cement floor.

For someone who'd been hit by a truck, he didn't feel any pain even when he rolled over. I'd thought he'd broken something, but strangely, he was fine. I sat up straight on the bed and examined everything, and everything was fine. Nothing was wrong. But it's hard to say it was a dream, because the feeling of being hit by the truck was too vivid.

While Jeongguk was in a state of confusion, a woman in a stylish outfit opened the door to the hospital room and came in, speaking in a voice full of concern.

"Jungkook, you must have studied so hard to collapse from exhaustion... Mom was worried. Are you in any pain?"

Studying so hard that she collapsed from exhaustion...? What does that mean? Jungkook sensed something was wrong. He also noticed that his mother looked a little younger.

"I'm fine, nothing hurts."

"Thank goodness. Then I'll go and check on Mom's discharge." As soon as his mother left the hospital room, Jungkook rummaged through the bag in the drawer next to him. Finding his phone, he turned it on and checked the date.

The date clearly appears on the screen: March 9, 2019.

Seeing that, Jungkook couldn't believe his eyes. 2019 was the year he'd just started high school. He was a 20-year-old repeat student, now a 17-year-old high school student.

"T, does this make sense...?"

Yeah. That's ridiculous. Convinced it was a dream, he slapped himself hard on the cheek without a moment's hesitation. Ugh... But all he got in return was a sharp slap and a cold, stinging sensation on his cheek.

"Huh, huh..."

"It really hurts... So that means this isn't a dream."

A sentence I read before losing consciousness flashed through my mind as I began to accept that I had returned to the past.

Surely, there's no such thing as "no." It's a fate I have to accept, even if I don't choose it. What kind of bullshit is this in my life...

Since you saved a life, are you giving me another chance to fix my ruined life?

"Yeah. Since you gave me the chance, I have no reason to refuse, right? I can use this opportunity to come to my senses and study."

Jungkook made a firm resolve in his heart. He would use this opportunity to rectify his ruined life.

........

After being discharged and returning home, Jeongguk piled all his textbooks on one side. He then opened the most important textbook, Korean. He carefully read from the first page, and his mind began to spin. Even during his college entrance exams, he hadn't been able to focus on his studies. Suddenly, he was able to do well. He had to find another way.

After a weekend of contemplation, Jungkook decides to go to school and focus on his classes. On Monday, despite his mother's pleas to stay home and rest a little longer, Jungkook heads to school with a determined mind.

Jungkook's worries, which he thought would be resolved once he started school, deepened further. The root of his worries was his first love, Yeo Hee-joo. The famous Casanova who stole Jungkook's heart had no interest in him. Hee-joo hated womanizers more than anything in the world, but Jungkook didn't know it. He had the foolish notion that every woman in the world loved him.

The opportunity to start over has arrived. Will you choose to pursue a career that will take charge of your life, or will you choose the unfulfilled first love that has remained buried in your heart? That is the question.

Unable to choose one, Jeong-guk vowed to straighten out his life and achieve his first love.

"My life, my love. I will make it all come true."

Indeed, will Jeong-guk be able to save his ruined life and find love?
