A Rainy Day Story

1. Umbrella

'Tiring ringing ringing'

The alarm sound passes by my ears.

I got up from the bed, rubbing my eyes that were not opening properly.

"....It's morning."

I went down to the kitchen, ate the breakfast my mom prepared, and immediately changed into my shoes.

엄마

"Lady, you should take an umbrella."

김여주

"yes?"

I looked outside and saw that it was drizzling.

엄마

"The weather forecast said it was going to rain today. Take an umbrella with you to school and be careful!"

김여주

"Oh, yes. I'll be back!"

Thump. Thump.

The sound of rain hitting my umbrella surrounds me.

As I walk, the rain naturally makes me feel uneasy, splashing on my shoes and occasionally soaking my socks.

"I wonder when the rain will stop... Anyway, it's really uncomfortable on rainy days."

The boy was just standing in the rain without an umbrella, staring blankly at the sky.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt."

"Just. If you do that in the rain, you'll catch a cold, right?"

I said this and pushed the umbrella in.

김여주

"I'm worried... Okay, do you want to go with me using an umbrella?"

The child looked at me for a moment, then said with a faint, very faint smile on his lips.
