CHANYEON
Brilliant Short Story Collection (Visual)

Morning sunlight gently filtered through the window curtains, tinting the bedroom in a warm golden glow. As soon as I slowly opened my eyes, I felt a pleasant heaviness pressing me down firmly into the mattress. Chanyeon was fast asleep right beside me.

With his big arms wrapped tightly around me, he had pulled me snugly into his broad embrace. Just as I carefully tried to slip out of his hold to sneak out of bed, Chanyeon let out a low, sleepy groan.

I could see an arm groping blindly at the empty space, lips pursed toward the air. I smiled and gently parted the curtains to look outside. The weather was perfectly clear and sunny. It seemed like there could be no more perfect day for a picnic by the river.

Deciding to let Chanyeon sleep a little longer, I quietly left the room. For an hour, I bustled around the kitchen preparing all our favorite foods and carefully packed them into the picnic basket along with the supplies we needed.

Once everything was perfectly ready, I let out an involuntary sigh of pride and satisfaction and put both hands on my hips.

At last, I turned to wake my favorite passionate guy, but the moment I stepped over the threshold, I met Chanyeon's eyes—already awake and sitting up in bed.

The instant our eyes met, his signature beaming, sunshine-bright smile spread across his face.

"Oppa, did I wake you up?" I asked.

"No, well, I woke up because I could hear your footsteps clunking around in the kitchen," Chanyeon replied with a giggle in a playful low voice. The sweet, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness of his voice made my heart drop dangerously hard. Stretching widely, he went on.

"But it's fine. What were you doing?"

"I was thinking we could have a picnic by the river." I gave a bright smile and tilted my head slightly. "The weather is seriously amazing today. What do you think?"

"Honestly, I wanted to stay buried under the blanket and roll around hugging you even tighter." Chanyeon muttered softly.

The deep tenderness in the look he gave me nearly ruined my composure. Chanyeon got out of bed and came right up to me as if invading my personal space.

"But seeing that you've already packed everything and are this excited... I guess we should go. Let's go!"

Fortunately, the drive out of the city was completely clear, and we quickly found a quiet, perfect spot near the river with soft grass spread all around, where we laid out a large picnic mat.

The picnic was absolutely fantastic. Warm sunlight, a gentle summer breeze, and above all, the most perfect love of my life right beside me—everything was perfect.

As I gazed at the softly rippling river, I gently rested my head on Chanyeon's shoulder. Without even a second's hesitation, Chanyeon turned around, wrapped both his big, warm arms tightly around my waist, and pulled me close to him.

But our perfect sunshine didn't last long. Huge dark clouds swept over the valley in an instant, swallowing the entire blue sky.

As I was about to say, looking up at the gray horizon, "Oppa, I think it's going to rain," an enormous downpour started pouring mercilessly over the park.

We screamed and burst out laughing, scrambling in chaos to grab the picnic basket and sprint across the grass toward the car.

The moment I slammed the car door shut, raindrops were already hammering against the windshield

Looking at each other's completely soaked hair and clothes, we soon burst into breathless, happy laughter.

"Now that's a spectacular weather." I panted, wiping away the raindrops streaming down my forehead.

"We'd better go home and shower before we catch a cold," Chanyeon said worriedly in a low, sweet voice as he started the engine.

After washing up and changing into clean, warm, fluffy clothes, a cozy, snug air hung throughout the apartment.

I was standing next to the living room's large floor-to-ceiling window, watching the heavy rain streaming down the glass, when suddenly a pair of strong arms wrapped around me from behind.

Chanyeon pulled my whole body in from behind and gently buried his face in the nape of my neck. After leaving a warm, deep kiss on my hair, he rested his chin lightly on my shoulder.

Chanyeon's large hands encircled my waist reassuringly, and the warmth of his palms against my hips felt comforting. Then, in time with the steady rain, Chanyeon began to sway my body gently, rhythmically from side to side.

And just like that, we stood together, perfectly sheltered from the storm outside the window, in a moment of eternity that felt like an instant.

"Can we lie down now? My feet hurt because we ran so much earlier." Chanyeon whispered in my ear. His puppy-like, adorably whining tone made laughter spill out of me before I could stop it.

"Okay, let's go," I replied playfully.

We crawled into the middle of the bed and lay facing each other on the soft mattress. For several minutes, we did nothing but smile at each other in sweet silence.

A laugh I couldn't hold back slipped out between my lips, and Chanyeon's smile deepened too, the corners of his eyes creasing with a tenderness so rich it looked like honey was about to drip from them.

With a gentle touch, Chanyeon wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and lightly pressed my body against his broad chest.

He wrapped his long legs around mine, and beneath the thick blanket our bodies tangled together perfectly, with not a single gap between us.

A happy, satisfied sigh rumbled up from deep in my chest and traveled straight through my ribs, and then a soft kiss lingered for a long time on the top of my head.

Breathing in the faint, clean scent of Chanyeon's perfume and feeling his warm body heat melt into the softness of the bed, my eyelids slowly grew heavy.

Falling asleep to the sound of his steady, calm breathing, and using the sound of his heartbeat as the perfect lullaby, was true, supreme happiness.

Even as Chanyeon drifted into peaceful sleep, the arm around my waist never loosened for even a single second. Held in his strong, safe embrace, I too soon drifted into a beautiful land of dreams.
