The child I saw was nothing special.

He had an average height, average academic ability, and no particular interpersonal skills... Sometimes I saw him and he seemed to be alone.

We happened to be in the same group, and we seemed to have become somewhat close. The kid who never spoke to anyone else was confiding in me. I didn't dislike him either.

Rather, I liked him because he wasn't the type to just nag and cling like other kids.

At some point, I developed a crush on a boy named Jinyoung.

He was a child with a small face full of eyes, nose, and mouth, a scientific mind that was good at both math and science, a model student who got along well with his friends, and sometimes a serious person.

The child sitting diagonally across from me, next to the window, seemed to glow, perhaps because of the sunlight streaming in through the window.

One day, I overheard the kids and Jinyoung talking.

반 아이 1

Jinyoung, what is your ideal type?

진영

huh?

진영

Hmm...if I like someone, won't that person be my ideal type?

반 아이 1

Oh~ That's cool~ So do you have a girlfriend? ㅋㅋ

진영

Ah... no!

반 아이 1

What the heck ㅋㅋ Your face is red ㅋㅋㅋ I guess something happened.

진영

We're not dating...just not yet...

반 아이 1

Does Bae Jin-young have a crush on someone?

진영

...

Jinyoung's ideal type, I thought, would be me.

If the kid Jinyoung likes right now were me... how great would that be?
