After Officer Jeong and Officer Jeon leave, Inspector Kim slams his fist on the steering wheel. Then he says:

In fact, for them, this was the only thing they could do for Officer Ha, even if it was just for Shin Da-hee's sake. If they couldn't do this, they would feel suffocated by the guilt.

After Inspector Kim's words, silence filled the car, and even after Officer Jeon returned and got into the car, the silence continued. Even before they passed away, my grandparents were worried that I might miss them and wonder about their whereabouts. Right before they closed their eyes, they both spoke to me in the same, slurred voice.

I closed and opened my eyes a few times, and the blackness of my vision shifted. Slowly, I blinked a few times, and my vision cleared. The pungent smell of disinfectant, the rising humidifier smoke. It was the same scene I'd seen during the Black Rose murder case.

It was definitely a hospital. The smell and scent reminded me of the same hospital as last time, but the room itself was different. I had a single room, though. As I slowly recollected my memories, the door opened and Sergeant Jeong entered.
