Huddled alone in the dark room, I pondered: Will you regret letting go of everyone so easily? Will you forget me and live happily there? Will the countless wounds and weary hearts that have constantly tormented you still be tormenting you there?

I hope you never hurt there. I hope you're always happy. I hope you never torment yourself. I hope you never try to be alone in the darkness.

A warm ray of sunlight streams through the tightly closed window. Just as the sun-drenched morning dawns, will a ray of light shine into my life? When the long darkness vanishes and morning arrives, will we meet again?

I used to think I couldn't live a single day without you, but I've endured a year without you. On the anniversary of your death, I visited the place where you ended your life.

Standing there, the cityscape took on a different look. Even in the evening, cars and people were moving busily, streetlights and street lights brightly illuminating the streets. Normally, I wouldn't pay any attention to it.

"This world is fucking shit. The good people are getting left behind, and the assholes who lived their lives shaking like crazy are still alive..."

I took another step closer to the railing. The cold night air blew toward me, carried by the wind. I didn't want to live in this horrible place any longer. I steeled myself and took one step, then two.

I sat on the railing, pulled my phone out of my pocket, dialed a familiar number, and began composing a message. Before I could even write a single sentence, tears were already streaming down my face, uncontrollably. The tears that fell, dwindling in the chill night air, were now cooling.

The man, barely able to compose a message, tossed his phone to the ground. "I'm sorry, Mom. I'm sorry for being such a... such a bad son."

With hot tears streaming down his face, the man took a step toward a place from which he could never return. Slowly, then quickly, he fell to the ground, his eyes slowly closing. He worried about those who would remain, but he had already crossed the river of no return.

thud-

* * * Where am I? A warm ray of sunlight poured down on me. I looked around and saw a familiar scene outside the window. Ah, this is the house you and I used to live in.

Suddenly- The door opens, and I see you, the person I've been searching for so desperately. You and I, in the past, seem so happy. Can we ever go back to that time? Suddenly, tears well up in my eyes.

"-Ah, Chanyeol-! Doctor!" I heard a faintly familiar voice. It was my mother. I mustered all my remaining strength to open my eyes. A white ceiling, unfamiliar machines, and a blood-soaked bed. This is a hospital. I fell from the rooftop and was rushed to the hospital.

I hear my mother's sorrowful sobs. The door bursts open, and doctors and nurses rush in, panting. My body's strength is fading away. Even lifting my eyelids becomes difficult. My eyes begin to close slowly.

When the doctor told her they had to say goodbye, the mother burst into tears, struggling to breathe. "Our, our Chanyeol... my poor baby... I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you..."

I could hear my vitals slowly dropping from the machine next to my bed. I was falling asleep. Unable to hold on any longer, I closed my eyes. Beep-

A quiet, mechanical sound echoes through the hospital room, once filled with the sound of crying. I leave behind precious memories, many of them, as I go to you. But I will live forever in the memories of those who cherish me.

"Mom, it's Chanyeol. I'm sorry for leaving you behind. I promised to treat you well, but I couldn't. I'm sorry. I'll go ahead and wait with Eun-kyung, so please take your time. I love you."
