EP 12.

So, after running away from my father, my mother and I settled down to live together. It was a small studio apartment, barely enough for two people to sleep and eat, but we were happy. It was the first time I realized how wonderful an ordinary life could be.

But that life also gradually fell apart.

It's not that my father has reappeared, or that something is wrong,

Just money and poverty. Those two things have increasingly squeezed our everyday lives, which we had hoped would be ordinary.

"Jungkook, Mom, you'll be late today, so eat first."

"Mom, don't wait for me and go to bed early because I might come tomorrow morning!"

My mother, who had run away to protect me from my father, now went out to work every day to save me from poverty, and I, who had no siblings, was naturally left alone.

I spent hundreds of excruciatingly lonely nights, clearing thousands of tables with no one to share a meal with. It was so miserable and lonely, becoming increasingly accustomed to being alone.

Still, I held my breath and held my breath in front of my mother. She had worked so hard for me, for us. I thought it was all I could do to keep quiet and not let her get upset.

But maybe the fact that my mother didn't say anything to me was the cause of the trouble.

It was a day like any other, where I cleared the dinner table alone and did my homework that I had been putting off until late at night.

Jiing- Jiing-

One late morning, as the rain poured down particularly hard, I received a call from an unknown number. I usually don't answer unknown numbers, but that day, I felt a strange sensation and picked up the phone. A man's urgent voice rang through the phone.

"Are you Mr. OOO's guardian?! He collapsed on the street and is currently being transported to Yeonyang University Hospital!!"

...what?

"Please come quickly!!!"

The unfamiliar smell of disinfectant no matter when you smell it,

People running around in a hurry, patients, and their guardians.

And the most unfamiliar thing in that sight,

"Oh, guardian! Are you here?"

...mom.
