Suddenly everything went back to normal

Suddenly everything went back to normal 01

A leisurely afternoon. In a cafe that seemed quite warm despite the cold January weather, a woman fidgeted with her phone, her coffee in front of her. She must have been in that position for quite some time, for the coffee had already stopped steaming and was now cold.

Like two cups of cold coffee waiting for someone to drink, she looked lonely yet desperate, as if waiting for someone. The part-timer began to give her a sidelong glance, as if the woman looked miserable and unsettling. But the part-timer continued to ignore her, seemingly oblivious to her.

Her phone was repeating a long beep. Finally, when she saw a man outside, she ran out of the cafe without even taking a sip of her coffee. The part-timer sighed, looking at the coffee still on the table where she had been sitting. He was clearing away the coffee cup she had left behind.

As the outside became noisy, he instinctively raised his head and looked outside. It was the woman from before. She seemed to be fighting with the man. Since other people's fights were none of his business, he continued to sort things out. Then, the eerie sound of a car's brakes was followed by something.

Even the sound of being hit. The part-timer, who was startled for a moment and almost fell over, discovered the nuisance woman, who had been hit by a car and collapsed, through a crack in the transparent glass window of the cafe. Without even a moment to be surprised, he quickly grabbed his cell phone and called an ambulance. A moment later, the ambulance arrived, making a loud noise.

He picked up the fallen woman and ran again.

But she had already lost so much blood that she had little hope.

February 6, 2018, 6:40 PM // Patient Han Yeo-ju dies

For a moment, my head felt like it was going to split open. I struggled to open my eyes and looked around, but all I saw was a blindingly white light.

Finally, I woke up to a lime green ceiling. Wait a minute. A lime green ceiling? I jumped up and looked around. It was my room from my second year of high school.
