EP.01 The Story of the Bear - 02

I ran. I just ran aimlessly, not knowing where I was from home.

I was very thin because I didn't exercise, and I was skinny because I didn't eat properly. I ran until I died. No, I thought it would be better if I died now.

But deep down, I was afraid of death, wondering if I was human. I heard a shout behind me, and it made me run even faster.

My feet felt like they were bleeding and freezing as they scraped against the cold asphalt. The pain was unbearable. Would it have been better if I had worn slippers when I ran out?

No, it might have actually been a hindrance.

The winds blowing in that mid-fall transitional period were truly frightening. Having escaped the frigid weather and not having proper clothing, I shivered.

With nowhere else to go, I turned down the alley and headed downtown. It was a good choice, since the crowds would make it harder for them to chase me.

I rubbed my hands all over my body, trying to keep my body temperature from dropping, but there was no sign of it rising.

Because I had no money, I couldn't go anywhere and wandered aimlessly until I arrived at

It was where I worked part-time.

Since it was a convenience store open 24 hours, I naturally opened the door and went in.

As I entered, the first thing I saw was Suhan, the longtime part-timer who'd shifted with me just two hours prior. Suhan seemed a little flustered at the sight of me, but then, upon seeing my feet, he opened the counter door and told me to come in.

Then, he helped me raise my body temperature by turning on the heater and covering me with a blanket. It was fortunate that Suhan knew my situation well. Otherwise, I would have had to explain everything in detail.

No troublesome things happened.

Suhan was doing his own thing, and I was warming myself up, wiggling my toes in slippers that were a little bigger than my feet.

As my body temperature rose, I felt pain in my feet that I hadn't felt before, as they were pricked and rubbed by various things.

I didn't realize it as I ran, but it seemed like the road I was running on was more rough than I'd expected. As I grimaced, enduring the pain, Suhan approached me, sighing.

"You are so fearless..."

전웅
Is that a compliment?

"Is that a compliment, you punk? What kind of crazy person walks around barefoot in this weather wearing short sleeves and shorts? And who's even being chased by loan sharks?"

전웅
Ah, sigh, go easy on me, it hurts.

"Of course it hurts, you idiot."

It was Suhan who treated the wound on my foot with a rather warm hand. Looking at Suhan, I couldn't help but smile at the thought that Naga Inbok was still a good person.

Ding-

With the sound of the door opening, a boy dressed neatly and nicely came in.

Suhan, who had been treating the child, briefly stepped back from me and greeted the customer in a bright tone. The child nodded and then looked around the convenience store.

And after about 5 minutes, what the child brought back was none other than chocolate milk, a box cutter, and a rope.

???
this...

???
Please calculate it for me

Suhan looked at the child with a slightly embarrassed expression, then scanned the barcode and said, "It's 6,000 won."

The child took out a check for 1 million won from his wallet, said that the change was okay, and put a cutter knife and a rope in his pocket, excluding the chocolate milk, before getting into an expensive foreign car parked outside the convenience store and disappearing.

Suhan, his eyes wide and bewildered, didn't move his hand as he accepted the money. He must have been quite shocked. Of course, I felt the same way.

What kind of crazy person leaves a check at a convenience store and then disappears? I'm going to do whatever it takes to save that money.

It looks like her face has grown a lot, but she really is different when she grows up without any shortcomings...

※It's been so long🥺 I'll try to come here more often from now on. Thank you for reading❤ I hope you have a great day today!

※I wish more people would read my writing. But is that just me being greedy? I'm still deeply grateful for the many people who read and leave comments, but I guess human greed is endless.😅
