Chuchotement [wontaek]

Prologue

A face, stark with contrasting blue and black lighting, appeared suddenly in the dark; the figure had spotted its next victim in the abyss. Running at a stable yet inhuman speed, a strong tackle resulted the seeming “victim” falling to the ground in shock. And yet, they didn’t feel pain. Surreal scenes flashed by the clouding eyes of the man under the creature, blurring together in a puddle of indescipherable hues. Uneven low growls sounded from above the man, slowly morphing into one name.
“Rrr..” Came the first grunt. “Ra.. Rav.” More followed suite. Soon enough, the beast was chanting the name, calling unto the dark and fogged nothing around them.
——

“Ravi!” Ken yelled, a shorter boy clad in a neatly pressed uniform. “Get up, you’re having one of those... Weird dreams, again.” The taller boy, Ravi, lifted his head slowly.
He was in a cold sweat, eyes darting around the room, trying to be sure he had escaped that empty fog he had just earlier given into. “Uh, yeah, yeah, I’m up. Break’s over, right? We should get going to class.” Each word slurred slightly with the one before it. Concern barely flickered through the eyes of many friends that sat around him at the small table.
The group shuffled to get all of their things, checking once, twice before heading to their next class.
...
Only solemn footsteps sounded in the halls deserted of students.
...
“Hey, Ravi, you heard about that new transfer, right?”Gravatar
