His time is different to theirs..thats why there's two Jins and two sand glasses. His time runs differently and when theirs runs out they disappear. He didn't get to save them in that timeline. He has been travelling through timelines to see if he saved them ever
Even in this timeline they ended up separated. That's why the objects are all covered up and each of maknae line is alone in that same room. It's like the scene behind the screen is their memories. Jin got there too late and saw how even in this universe, the outcome was the same
Tae knows that these other timelines exist (from hyyh) and Jungkook seems to have guessed it too. I think they somehow know that this was going to happen to them as well in this one. Both rooms mirror each other so it's definitely a parallel universe
Parallel worlds could mean that this is why he never saved them..because rather than travelling through time in the same world, he was travelling through different worlds and never getting to save them ever.
