I like you. I couldn't get you out of my head the past few days. I-

The words suddenly came to a halt when Hyena realized the meaning of the phrases she blurted out without even thinking much about them.

She covered her mouth with her hands and shut her eyes real tight.
Upon opening her eyes again to read his face, she found herself on the couch, sleeping. A small line of sweat trickled down her cheeks as she sat upright and massaged her forehead with her fingers.

I dreamt about .... him?

Like almost all doctors, Hyena too published a thesis during her graduate years. A thesis on sleep and dreams. After all, those were the topics that interested her the most and she always wondered how beautifully they worked. And so the fact was no new to her, the fact that the people appearing in dreams are the ones that are thought about subconsciously. And this revelation excited her and at the same time, made her slap herself back to reality.

But the more she kept running away from those thoughts, the more she kept drowning in them, deeper and deeper. And her dreams were all filled with his faces.

Initially, for a few couple of days, there was nothing much going on in her dreams. Just his face and just her usual self confessing her love towards him all the time. She didn't even mind having those dreams anymore, more like she got used to them. But a week or two later, when she couldn't see him in person in their routine rendez-vous place, the elevator, her dreams intensified and went on a whole new level. They kept getting erotic by the day. And the worst part of it all, she wasn't even guilty about having them anymore. She in a strange way would find herself grumpy when the dreams broke right when they should've kept going.

A car's beep horn startled her as she was walking cluelessly towards the bus stop. When the windows rolled down, she knew she had to fake a smile.

Hey, Hun!

She greeted as she got inside his car. She almost choked as she enunciated that sweet nickname for him. Not that it was her first time doing that, it was more because of her guilty preoccupied thoughts she'd been having the past few days.

The entire ride went silently, as if a word spoken would cause them to take some punishment.

Hyena's eyes widened as she opened the car's door. It wasn't her apartments. Neither was it his. It looked like some fancy restaurant. And before she could ask what it was all about, Yohan was pretty much prepped up to come up with the explanation since he knew she'd forget it.

My professor invited us for the dinner. I told you about this a week ago, didn't I?

He said as he jokingly hit her head and lead her inside, walking arm in arm. The waitress gave Yohan a warm smile as she recognized him and pointed towards a far off table with four chairs, lit dimly with antique candelabras.

Hyena raised her eyebrows as soon as she noticed the four chairs. She looked over at Yohan for further explanation but before he could speak anything, a gentle tone made the couple flip their heads.

A young lady probably in her mid twenties wrapped in robes which could sum up the whole of Hyena's salary that she would earn for a month, was supposed to be Yohan's professor. And she wasn't alone. She was accompanied by a tall man, who for no reason made Hyena's heart skip a beat as soon as she looked at him.

Seo-Seongwu-ssi?

She soon pinched her skin to only end up flinching and letting out a small whimper.

It was happening. And she was sure she needed some heart transplant because it seemed like her own would jump out of her chest any second.
