The "47th Flower of Dawn" project is an annual exhibition project by Seohwa SH. Several leading designers, writers, and painters contact Seok to participate, and he examines their work. He selects the best works, sets the theme for the project, and signs a contract.

"Sir, after the design team completed the first and second reviews for this project, we have two final pieces remaining."

“Yes, please.”

The first candidate was a work by J_place, an American installation art company. Their concept this time was a glass-centric installation, characterized by its dazzling brilliance and dazzling design.

“Is this your first project with us?”

“Yes. This is your first time, the 47th time.”

“Um...okay.”

The highlight of this project, located at the end of the exhibition hall and in the largest space, is a display of works depicting the most magnificent and magnificent flowers that can be used to express calligraphy and painting. This is the heart of the beloved "Flowers of Dawn" project.
While other works usually put all their effort into highlighting the project, ‘J_place’ did not do that.
Just one mistake and the biggest mistake

"It seems our company didn't do a good job of researching our exhibition. The focus is on other works rather than flowers, and there's not a single mention of calligraphy or artwork that could be considered a good introduction to it."

“Why did the design team choose this?”

“I’m sorry. I’ll tell the design team.”

Seok doesn't like excuses. Whatever the reason, it's right.
If it wasn't, it simply wasn't. The design team clearly wanted to change the neat and subtle atmosphere of their previous exhibitions through the works of "J_place." However, this exhibition focuses on "calligraphy"—the very essence of calm and subtlety.
If you wanted something flashy, there had to be subtle flashiness and an overtly flashy and beautiful ending.

“This is the next work.”

Next were the outfits by French designer Adelaide. These were traditional Korean garments, crafted with the antique feel of hanbok. Her trademark, almost undulating patterns were featured throughout, and the fourth outfit, in particular, stood out for its gold decorations and drawings set against a black background.

The final outfit featured red petals set against a white background. The other outfits were equally splendid, but this one stood out even more because it was white.

“It’s pretty. Please make an appointment.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Secretary Kim, what are your plans for tomorrow?”

"As you know, I'm on a business trip to France. Secretary Yang will be coming to your house tomorrow."

“Is Secretary Kim coming to the front of the house too?”

“Yes? Oh, yes. Of course I will go.”

So two weeks later, I went on a business trip to France.
Because Seok is always sensitive about contracts, it was decided that instead of having several employees, only Seok, Yeo-ju, Secretary Yang, and two guards would be together.

For some reason, the heroine found herself smiling and her heart pounding. Perhaps it was because it was her first time in France in a long time, and her first overseas business trip, that she was in a good mood. However, she prepared thoroughly to avoid being swept away by this feeling and making a mistake.

"These are clothes the CEO personally made. He made them because he wanted to give them to the managing director when he came."

“Thank you. Merci.”

When the designer presented him with clothes he had personally made, Seok took off his jacket and tried them on right away. The multi-colored patterns on the white background matched Seok's gorgeous appearance well. It seemed like the female protagonist smiled at the sight, or maybe her face turned red.

“Sir, here’s the contract.”

“Yes, please.”

The contract was successfully concluded, and this <47th Dawn Flower> project was confirmed as a costume exhibition.

After the contract ended, they ate at the same restaurant they'd been to five years ago. Secretary Yang thanked them for their hard work and handed him his card. Seok and Yeoju had a small company dinner together. Yeoju admitted she didn't like drinking much, but she knew company dinners should be light, so Seok poured her some wine, and she couldn't refuse.

“Secretary Kim.”

“Yes, sir.”

"Do you remember that business trip to France five years ago? I made a mistake on the contract and got scolded for it and cried a lot."

The female protagonist also smiled and spoke in a teasing tone.

“That was five years ago. I haven't made the same mistake since.”

“At that time… Secretary Kim…”

“Huh? I didn’t hear you correctly.”

"no."
“It seems like the Chairman likes Secretary Kim.”

“I see. Please tell him I said thank you.”

“..I don’t know exactly what it means, but I think it means doing a good job.”

"Isn't that so? Come on, eat. It won't taste good if it gets cold."

Seok couldn't have been unaware of what his grandfather had said. Just by looking at the situation, he could tell what it meant, and even if he hadn't, Seok, with his sharp wit, would have quickly grasped it.

3 weeks before the business trip

“I don’t.”

“You’re already that old, shouldn’t you get married?”

"I have no plans to get married. I'm not seeing anyone. I still want to learn more about the company. I have an older brother, too. Why are you doing this to me?"

“You just have to make the person you meet.”

"The chairman considers you his successor. He'll be the master of calligraphy and painting in about ten years, but he needs a family."

“Father, please be sure.”

Gravatar
“It’s a marriage for the company, not for the owner of the calligraphy and painting.”

“This kid..!”

"I don't do arranged marriages. If you're done talking, I'll go."

Seok clenched his fists so tightly that his palms were bruised, and bowed his head to the two men. As he was leaving the garden and heading back to the office, someone grabbed him.

“Are you going?”

“Chairman. No, grandfather.”

“Yeah. What did you hear inside that made you make that face?”

“…”

“Let’s go for a walk together. Listen to that complicated pace.”

"Marriages of convenience... I hate them. Many do them for the company's benefit, but marriages without feelings, relationships without emotions. I want to give my children the warmth they deserve, but if that happens..."

“I know what you mean. Why are you suffering alone?”

“..I feel suffocated.”

"Seokjin, if you really don't like it, don't do it. You're tormenting yourself by worrying about things you can just ignore."

“…”

"Even if that's not the case, there are many people around you. Aren't there people you secretly care about?"

“Where would I find someone like that?”

“There is. Definitely.”
“Clean and upright. Kind and pretty.”

“There probably aren’t many people like that around here.”

“Secretary Kim is truly upright and beautiful. Don’t you already know that?”

“Grandpa, Secretary Kim is just a secretary.”

Seok always felt at ease when he was with his grandfather. That's probably why he laughed so much. At Seok's words, his grandfather laughed heartily and looked at him.

“Is that so? Then I guess I saw things wrong.”

"yes?"

"No. I guess I should go now. Let's grab a meal sometime."

Seok pondered his grandfather's words. The woman sitting in front of him was talking earnestly about the contract.

“I’m glad this contract went well, sir. Right?”

Seok looked at the brightly smiling female lead and seemed to fall into thought for a moment before carefully speaking.

“Secretary Kim.”

"yes?"

“Secretary Kim..”

“I think it’s really pretty when you smile.”

[warning]

"Secretary Kim! This is a document from the design team. Please tell the managing director that I need to give it to him. I have to go to a meeting right now... Please!"

“Sir, I’m going in.”

“Yes, please come in.”

“Excuse me, sir… I need… my glasses…”

“Why? Is there something wrong with your glasses?”

“No, I’m sorry.”

“Secretary Kim.”

“…”

“Secretary Kim.”

“Huh?”

“Sigh… Why can’t I concentrate? I asked what time the final confirmation for the exhibition would be today.”

“Ah, it’s 5 o’clock today.”

“Okay, go out. Get a grip.”

“Yes, I’m sorry.”

"Secretary Kim, you're acting a little strange today. Are you tired from your business trip? You've been acting like this for the past two weeks..."

“No, I’m not. I’m working.”
