"Where are you going!"

I just ran blindly, following Taehyung, but I couldn't understand why I was running while drawing all the attention of the defenders. Only a feeling of bewilderment filled my mind as I faced the current situation.

[I found out their weakness!]

At Taehyung's words, Jungkook and I's eyes widened to the point where we felt like we were going to pop out.

The existence of 'weakness' means that there is a god-like being approaching, dark and endlessly swirling with fear, that could kill you.

"What's your weakness?" I asked Taehyung. His answer came back in a solemn voice.

[These guys are extremely sensitive to sound. If they hear a noise that is too loud to bear, it may not kill them, but it will stop them for a while.]

I started to understand Taehyung's words.

But how loud would it take to cause them harm? We didn't yet fully understand the level of damage, so even if we knew their weakness, there was no way to overcome this situation.

(Car horns, or loud speakers. Noise like that won't cause any harm, but will likely draw more attention.)

Taehyung nodded sharply at Jeongguk's words.

At my words, "Let's keep running without hesitation," Taehyung and Jungkook started to pick up their pace again, and I looked back to see if they had grown farther away from the defenders who were walking with their long legs swinging.

...it was not a speed that a person could keep up with.

[Fuck! Why are they so fast?]

Taehyung shouted in a voice full of embarrassment.

"Shut up! I'll get in your way!" My urging was directed at Taehyung, but it was already too late.

 [Gulp, gurgle]

The Defenders approaching with a strange and unpleasant sound, one, two, three, four...

Their numbers were growing exponentially.

"Fuck"

Is it over already? I was staring blankly at the defenders in a state of resignation when a sharp voice was heard along with the honking of a horn.

[Don't just sit there blankly, get on quickly!]

The owner of the voice seen through the crack in the window going down with a creaking sound was Kim Min-ji, who had said she was leaving to find a new colleague.

Why are you here...? Minji stared at us with wide eyes, and we were frozen like statues, frustrated, and she snapped at us again.

(Get on quickly, you idiots! You want to die here?)

The car Minji was riding in was none other than an old car full of dents.

By the way, you know how to drive a car...? We get into the car in a hurry, and Minji takes off before we can even sit up straight.

If you're going to burn it, burn it quietly! If you keep doing this, you'll attract more attention from the defenders!

[Fuck, do they even have names? And if you saved me, shouldn't I start by saying thank you?!]

Minji responded to Jeongguk's urging with a sharp tone.

It was truly a grateful thing that he saved them, but thanks to Minji's horn, the number of defenders increased from four to seven.

Hey, where do they keep popping out from...?

“No, I like it.”

(I actually like it this way! Hey, are you finally crazy?)

Taehyung grabbed me by the collar and shook me while talking.

“No, listen! When the Defenders first appeared, they didn’t come out with the trumpet sound, but after the trumpet sound ended. Of course, it could be a coincidence... but maybe the Defenders are just weak to the trumpet sound?”

The noisy car became quiet for a moment at the sharp and sly words that were not certain but not opinions that could be completely dismissed. Soon, Minji opened her mouth.

(That makes sense, but... the risk is too great. And, the trumpet sounds came out simultaneously and then ended, so you can't hear them anymore, right?)

I was listening to the radio at home, and it was not a nationwide phenomenon, but a specific area. And that area is where we are now.

Jungkook spoke carefully.

Oh, I heard it at home.

“Just in time, the other side is starting to get covered in dark clouds.”

The place my fingertips touched was not too far, but it was a large company and the large buildings around it that were so close that it would take some time to walk there.

It looked as if it would split wide open at any moment, creating a gap and letting out light.

[I don't know. Let's just go for now.]

As Kim Min-ji finished speaking, the engine began to speed up on the road, letting out a painful sound.
