Second recess. Three minutes have passed since the bell rang. And here she comes, her hair a mess. She sits at the same table as yesterday, the same table she sits at every day. Small, with a bench about to fall apart, scratched from top to bottom, and covered in dry leaves that fall from the orange tree that shades it. She always sits there.

She brushes her hair away from her face, takes out a pencil the size of her index finger, and begins to draw lines in her notebook. It seems to never end. It's old; sometimes the pages fall out.

I'd say he's drawing. But I never see him from any closer than this.

"Seungmin," Jisung says, "Will you come with me? I need to return this book."

I walked him home. Before we could get back to our seats, the bell rang. And that boy had already gone back to his classroom; he goes back a little early. I don't know where. But he leaves early.
