CHAPTER 18

Chaeyoung's P.O.V:

After talking to Jin, I rush outside where Yeonjun had told me to meet him. Also, why am I having butterflies in my stomach after talking to Jin? Weird.

I go outside and Yeonjun is already there, waiting for me.

"So....where are we going?" I ask him and he grins. "It's a surprise."

I pout. "Okayyyyyy."

He chuckles and opens the car door for me and I buckle up.

It has been so long since I went to one!

"Woah!" I exclaim and he chuckles as we enter.

"Sooo.... where do you wanna go?" He asks.

"The roller coaster, DUH!" I squeal in excitement.

He grins, "Alrighty!"

~AFTER ALL THE RIDES~

"That was so much fun!!!! But I'm really hungry now," I say and Yeonjun takes out a picnic basket that he had prepared for us. "Well then, let's eat!"

After we had eaten, I was helping him pack up when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and it is Yeonjun, shyly holding out a rose to me.



I blush as I take it. Then he suddenly grabs my arms and makes me stand up as he looks into my eyes. I am very shocked. And then what happens next......

"Chaeyoung....I have always wanted to say this for a long time but ever since the day we met I have always admired you. You are so strong and kind. I really care about you, Chae. And....I know you are still in a shock after James but.... Chae, I l-"

"Stop. Please..." I cut him before he can continue. He blinks. 

I look down. "J-jun....I-I'm sorry but....I have always thought of you as my older brother....nothing more....I appreciate what you said, I really do....but...please understand...and....I-I....t-think I....l-like someone....else...." I say as tears form in my eyes.

I feel his hand lift my chin. "I-It's okay...You don't have to be sorry. I'm sorry i-if I made you uncomfortable..." He says while giving me a sad smile.

"N-no....It's okay, 'Jun...." I say as I turn my back on him and pick up the basket. "S-shall we go back t-then....?"

"Hmmm okay..." He says.

I plop on my bed and let out a breath.

I had never known....never THOUGHT...that Yeonjun, Choi Yeonjun, my childhood friend, my older brother, would have feelings for me.

Never. 

I do feel sad for him. But....I am happy that he didn't force me and respected my decision.

But then, I still don't know what happened. When I told him 'I like someone else'. Is that even true...? Why did I even say that?

I let out a sigh and fall asleep.

Jin's P.O.V:

It was almost midnight and I was still up, finishing my assignment, when I heard a scream across my room. It is Chaeyoung. 

I immediately get up and run to her room, where she is sitting on her bed with her hands in her hair and tears falling on her cheeks.

"Chaeyoung!" I exclaim as I pull her into my chest and she cries on my shoulder. 

"Did you have a nightmare.....?" I ask her while stroking her hair and she nods. "Do you want to talk about it? It's better to let it out....but I won't force you."

"T-there was a girl....S-sojin was her name, I t-think" she begins. "and m-my mom....S-She killed my mom, J-jin! F-for something I d-didn't even d-do!" She sobs.

Anger boils inside me at Sojin. "Shhh. It's okay, Chaeyoung....It wasn't your fault....It's okay..."

Once she had calmed down, I get up to leave but she grabs my arm. "Please...stay....I-I have n-no one....n-no one...."

I hug her. "You have me. Always."

"T-then h-hold me tight. And don't let go...." She says as she falls asleep.
