"Dr. Felix!!!"
The door banged open as a nurse in panting breath came into the room.
"S-sorry for the inconvenience but, Dr. Felix. We have an emergency. Sir Nase is missing!"
"What?!"the three of them asked almost simultaneously.
"W---ugh! Check the CCTV footage and call me if you see him."Dante said immediately and left the room.
"Come on, stay here. You need to rest."Dr. Felix said and ran out with the nurse.
"I can't just seat back and do nothing here!" A'tin said annoyed and removed the dextrose from his hand.
As he walked around the hospital, he passed a room.
"I...I don't want it anymore! I want to die! You've already spent so much on my medicine!"The male patient inside the room said, crying.
A'tin stopped walking upon hearing these words as she realized something.
"Want to die? What if---"
A'tin couldn't continue his thoughts and ran towards the hospital elevator. He pressed the 14th floor and waited nervously.
"No...Paulo won't do that. He will not take his life again, right?"
But A'tin was stunned when he remembered what happened to him and Paulo five years ago.
She will never forget the day she found Paulo unconscious on the living room floor of her house. There was a pill bottle next to him and pills scattered around.
That was the first time he had seen Paulo attempt suicide. Fortunately, the situation was intervened and the young man survived.
"But he totally forgot about it. He forgot that he committed suicide. What if...it was an alter who took his life before?"
A'tin's thoughts were interrupted as the elevator door opened. She quickly took off and ran to the stairs.
She took a deep breath before opening the door of the rooftop. With shaking hands, she twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open. And there, she saw the man that she was looking for all along.
"Paul..." A'tin thought and slowly walked towards him, but the man has yet to notice her.
"Life is precious because it ends. That's why Pablo is here."
Pablo took a step up on the edge of the rooftop. He took a glance down below, leaning himself towards it.
"Life ends, that's why we should live and seize every moment, Pablo. That's why, A'tin is here."
Pablo slowly turned his gaze behind. With twitching eyebrows, he then said...
"So, you're the one who called me. The reason why Paulo wants to die now."
With teary eyes, A'tin was left couldn't utter a word upon witnessing the incident.
"I'm a psychiatrist, but how did I not find out about your condition, Paulo?" A'tin thought.
"A-are y-you sure that P-paulo wants to die?" A'tin asked while stuttering.
Pablo felt the urge of speaking to the woman in front of him. That's why he jumped away from the edge and walked towards A'tin and stood beside her.
"She could carry my last words, I guess." Pablo thought.
"I, Pablo, is a suicidal alter. If Paulo wants to escape his problems by dying, he calls me out to help him execute it. Because Paulo is a coward, just like what Sejun said."
A'tin clenched her fist in anger. But Pablo only returned an emotionless look at her.
"What about Sejun? Did you even ask him if he wants to die already?"
This question struck Pablo hard. He was dumbfounded.
"Stop being selfish, Pablo. And don't decide on their behalf. I know that Paulo is just being impulsive right now. He didn't mean to summon you. He doesn't want to die!" A'tin screamed at the man.
But Pablo just flashed a weak smile.
"What do you know about us? Stop nagging as if you know everything, woman." Pablo said emotionlessly, making A'tin angry.
"I have a name, dimwit! It's A'tin, not woman. And of course, I know you! You're my ex-boyfriend! We had a relationship for five years, bastard! And I don't even know a thing about your condition!" A'tin yelled.
"You know what worse than having to know nothing?" Pablo asked while walking closer towards A'tin.
"W-what?" A'tin nervously said as Pablo intimidated her.
"It's thinking that you know everything. You don't know everything, A'tin. So, stop interfering." Pablo said and turned his back from A'tin.
A'tin's eyes widened as Pablo is attempting to climb up the edge of the rooftop again. She quickly grabbed Pablo's jacket to stop him.
"It's not possible! You can't die, Pablo!"A'tin firmly said and quickly moved in front of him.
With teary eyes, A'tin stared at Pablo's eyes and screamed.
"Fuck you, John Paulo Nase! Get out of there!"A'tin screamed furiously.
But Pablo just remained his emotionless face. He didn't even flinch a bit. Thus, A'tin grabbed his shoulders and decreased the gap between them.
"I know you can hear me, Paulo. You must be scared right now. I'm sorry. For leaving you all alone back then when you needed me the most. I'm sorry for being oblivious. Paulo...just..."A'tin couldn't finish her sentiments as she burst into tears.
"Don't leave me, Paulo. Can't you see? I want to bring our relationship back. Please...don't take yourself away from me." A'tin pleaded.
The lady's knees became weak because of overwhelming emotions until she fell to the ground, crying helplessly.
Pablo couldn't understand why she's hurting upon seeing an unfamiliar lady cry. That's why without thinking much, he knelt to the ground and wiped the lady's tears.
But Pablo felt the pain in his head. A sign that an alter is itching to come out.
"Do you know the superstition about the man?" Pablo asked, making A'tin confused.
"Huh?"
"They say that when you're knocking at someone's door, you have to say manto indicate that you're a human, not a mythical creature."
"But not in our case. If someone said man while knocking on the door, one of us comes out to protect Paulo." Pablo entailed and breathe heavily while bearing with the pain in his head.
"I don't understand." A'tin said while sobbing.
"Me either, A'tin. Y-your name is not man, and you're not a m-mythical creature too. B-but, how come you can t-trigger all of us?" Pablo asked while stuttering. He couldn't help but groan in pain and grip his head that immediately alerted A'tin.
"W-wait, w-what's going on with you?"
Pablo just smiled at A'tin's question.
"Are you the cure, A'tin?" Pablo thought.
"Nice t-to meet you, A-a'tin." Pablo said before losing his consciousness.
"Pablo!!!" A'tin yelled in panic.
