A silence fell.
Unhak-sunbae, who really hates it when there’s dead air, chatters away nonstop.
Unhak: “You’ve been here before? A lot of people from our school come here.”
Unhak: “How did you end up coming to this department?”
Unhak: “This drama was pretty good.”
Unable to keep up with the sunbae who kept asking questions and talking, I carried on the conversation.
I used to feel burdened by conversations like this, but talking with sunbae was nothing but happiness.
The food came out, and when Unhak sunbae tried it, his eyes went wide.
Unhak: “Whoa, now I see why this is a favorite spot for our school.”
After taking a bite, it really was delicious.
Unhak: “Hey, Yuri, on your mouth—”
Unhak sunbae said, pointing to his own mouth.
As I kept eating, it seemed like sauce had gotten near my mouth.
Embarrassed it might look dirty,I quickly took out a tissue.
But I didn’t know exactly where the sauce had gotten on me, so I fumbled around.
Unhak: “Uh, no, not there, uh…”
Unhak sunbae took the tissue and wiped my face for me.
He came close, and the distance between us was only a few inches.
My face instantly burned hot.
Unhak: “Um… uh, I mean… I couldn’t find it well..”
Yuri: “Ah.. yes”
I was flustered and couldn’t meet his eyes, but I did see his ears turn slightly red.
It felt like there were only the two of us in the whole world. Without knowing what was coming next.
??: “Oh! Unhak!”
Unhak: “Chaerin noona?”
Chaerin: “Hey~ “You’re here to eat?”
Unhak: “Yeah, I’m treating a younger student I know to lunch because they helped me out.”
An acquaintance from below me..
Chaerin: “Oh~ so you’re Kim Unhak-sunbae.”
Unhak: “But are you here alone?”
Chaerin: “Yeah.”
Unhak: “There aren’t any seats left, so do you want to sit at our table?”
Unhak: “Is that okay, Yuri?”
Wasn’t it supposed to be just the two of us eating?
But it’d be weird to say no here.
Yuri: “Yesㅎㅎ..”
Chaerin: “Thank yooou”
Chaerin sunbae and Unhak sunbae seemed very close.
Chaerin sunbae and Unhak sunbae talked about old stories I could never possibly know.
Because of that, I couldn’t even join the conversation.
But Chaerin sunbae was truly an amazing person.
She was said to be the top student while juggling a part-time job and school. She was even beautiful.
She was kind to me, too.
The kind of person anyone would like.
I felt miserable.
There was someone like that beside Unhak sunbae, so what right did I have for Unhak sunbae to like me?
After we finished eating, Unhak sunbae said he’d walk me home, but I said it was close and told him to walk Chaerin sunbae home and come back.
