Predator
Everything had fallen into place. At least, that was how it looked to everyone else.
“…”
Jeon Jungkook leaned back lazily in the chair.
“So.”
he asked, setting the documents down.
“You still don’t know where he is?”
“No. Since his last confirmed sighting, there’s been no particular movement.”
“Yeah?”
Jungkook gave a short laugh.
“Good. Guess he’s still alive.”
“……”
”What. Anything else to say?“
His subordinate hesitated for a moment before bowing his head.
“Then get out.”
Only after the door closed did Jungkook put down the documents he’d been holding.
“…”
It was a strangely absurd thing. He had gotten everything he wanted. The organization, power, even the seat he had craved for so long. And yet, something still felt empty.
“…”
Jungkook sank deep into the chair and let out a dry laugh.
“Seriously.”
It had been 7 years. More than enough time to fool one person. During those long years, he had never once forgotten his goal. At least, that’s what he believed.
“…”
Then, suddenly, her last expression came to mind.
“…”
Jungkook frowned.
“Haah…”
Why was the face he had worked so hard to erase only now coming back to him? He shut the documents irritably.
“What a pain.”
-
Bang bang -
Two shots fired in quick succession, and the gunfire only added to the confusion. Literally, it was chaos.
“…”
The day a rebellion broke out inside the organization. The halls were filled with hurried footsteps and shouts, and rough fights were breaking out everywhere.
”……!“
The order of the organization, maintained for so long, was collapsing all at once.
Some ran away, and some betrayed their comrades to survive. The guys who had been on the same side only hours earlier bared their teeth at each other.
“…”
It was pure chaos. But to Jungkook, it wasn’t all that surprising. It had already been set in motion.
“…”
The rebellion progressed faster than expected. The organization, which had begun to crack little by little after the woman’s father died, finally split apart completely on that day.
“Hyung, it’s going as you said.”
Jungkook gave a slight nod without saying anything else.
“And on that side?”
“It seems they still haven’t figured out what’s going on.”
“Yeah?”
A faint smile tugged at the corner of Jungkook’s mouth.
“They really are hopelessly clueless.”
It had been 7 years. Years spent laughing, talking, and sometimes even betting his life at the side of that woman. During all that time, Jungkook had never once been suspected by her.
She trusted him. Maybe she even thought he was the most trustworthy person in the organization.
What a joke. She had no idea the person she kept closest would be the one to take everything from her.
“Hyung, what should we do now?”
Jungkook slowly stood up from his seat.
“What do you mean, what do we do?”
He smiled as he straightened his clothes.
“We finish it.”
That day, she lost everything.
The organization her father had left behind, the place she had protected until now, even the people she believed were hers.
And at the center of it all was Jeon Jungkook.

The next chapter will unfold from the heroine’s perspective on that day.
