“They’re all here. Here they are.”
Namjoon said, pushing open the old iron gate. There was an old well in the yard, and he didn't mind the creaking sound of the gate.
“Is this… really Grandma’s house?”
"Oh. It's so remote that it's hard for anyone to find. It doesn't show up on navigation systems either."
Jihye felt something warm and familiar.
At that moment, the door from inside opened with a jerk and an old woman's face popped out.
A small, stooped body, white hair, and eyes that were harder than expected.
“No—who are you at this hour of the night?!”
Namjoon waved his hand and shouted.
“Grandma~ It’s me! Namjoon!”
“Namjoon?? Why is this guy here in the middle of the night without even contacting me... What the heck!!”
The grandmother approached and scolded me.
“Namjoon! Why aren’t you contacting me?! What are you going to do if you come here in the middle of the night without even contacting me?!”
Namjoon quickly smiled and walked over to Jihye, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
“Ha… Grandma, what’s wrong? You’re my wife. Don’t you remember?”
Jihye flinched, but smiled calmly.
Grandma opened her eyes slightly and asked.
“A woman…? When have I ever seen anything like that before…”
"Hey, did you forget that I came with you? I told you, Grandma, you keep forgetting things these days."
“…Did I…I’ve been a bit forgetful lately…but…”
Grandmother looked at Jihye, and suddenly a bright smile appeared on her face.
“Why are you so... pretty? Oh my, my granddaughter-in-law~ Welcome home~~!”
Then he held Jihye's hand tightly.
“Your hands are so soft, you didn’t even have to work hard~ Oh my, you came at a good time~”
Jihye was embarrassed, but then she smiled slightly at the warmth of his fingertips.
“…Thank you, Grandma..!”
“Come on in. I’ll make you a cup of tea.”
Grandma poured water into an old kettle and served me warm barley tea.
"Use this room. I've laid out plenty of blankets there. They're not the best, but you'll feel better in no time."
Namjoon said, lowering his head.
“Thank you, Grandma.”
“Oh my~ Who would have thought that our Jun would bring a girl home~ I’m crying so much~
Okay, hurry up and rest~”
Jihye smiled shyly. Namjoon scratched his head with an embarrassed face.
There were no curtains in the room my grandmother gave me, and the wallpaper was peeling in places.
But there was a warm ondol floor with a country smell.
Namjoon said as he spread out the blanket.
“...I’m sorry for suddenly dragging you to a strange place.”
“No. Coming to a place like this actually makes me feel a bit... at ease...!”
"..really..?"
“Yeah, it really feels like newlyweds... haha”
“Ah... ahaha, that’s right..”
"Should we at least make a bed?"
"Okay!"
The two lay side by side under the same blanket. The only sound in the room was the cuckoo clock.
Wisdom spoke softly.
“Namjoon.”
"…huh?"
“If I find all my true memories… will I be happier than I am now?”
"Why did you think that?"
"Just... I'm still happy like this,
"I wonder what will happen if I find my memories...!"
"Haha.. Don't worry, Jihye."
".... This is my feeling, but it feels like it will suddenly disappear like a mirage."
"...."
"Is it because I'm in a bad mood... or is it because I don't remember?"
Namjoon gently stroked Jihye's head.
"Don't worry, that won't happen. I'll always be by your side."
As Namjoon spoke, he felt a pang in his stomach.
Because I started to question what exactly was in my heart.
The next morning.
Jihye opened her eyes to a delicious smell coming from somewhere.
"hmm…"
She rubbed her eyes and sat up. Small noises could be heard coming from the small kitchen.
"What is Grandma doing this morning...?"
Wisdom turned towards the sound.
Then I saw an old woman sitting in front of the stove.
Jihye approached silently and was startled when she saw her grandmother.
"Huh...Grandma?"
