When I was young
At every petty quarrelit felt like neither of us was really right
I vowed I’d never end up like themBut I was just a childish kid.
A gold medal seemed easy
and other people’s hard work seemed laughable
With audition offers coming in from here and there
I think my shoulders even went up
The older I get
the more I see
My parents weren’t heroes
they were people like me
Turns out friendships are complicated, too
Not everyone likes me
My precious person left my side
and I cried bitterly, butnow I know
that parting is part of life
I just didn’t realize it…..
The playground that seemed so big when I was young is small
I’m slowly getting stronger than my dad
….I miss my grandfather
Looking back, there were so many times I wondered, how did I even do that?
I want to hear my mom nag at me
I want home-cooked food.
what I didn’t realize
With 6 people, no, tens of thousands of family members
someday I’ll understand what I didn’t realize
Yeah, someday I’ll understand
when I’m older…..
