A cold silver magic swirled above the veil surrounding the mansion’s outskirts.

Dozens of elite hunters, led by the family head’s uncle, broke through the barrier and stormed into the castle courtyard.

The silver greatswords and holy water vials clenched in their hands gleamed coldly beneath the moonlight.

It was the family’s last all-out effort to punish Su-bin, the ‘failure’ who had tarnished the family’s honor and, having bowed to the Lord of Night, become a monster.

“Choi Su-bin! Get out here now!”

The uncle’s roar broke the silence.

“You dirtied the family’s blood and became the monster’s dog, and now you dare accept a vampire’s blood and betray humanity!

Today I’ll cut off your head and wash away the family’s shame!”

The heavy mansion door slowly opened.

But the one walking out was not Yeonjun.

The one who emerged with immaculate composure in a pitch-black blood-red coat, graceful yet overwhelmingly imposing, was Su-bin. Su-bin’s red eyes shone with a deep light beneath the moonlight.

“Shame... huh.”

Su-bin’s low voice rode the magic and echoed across the entire courtyard.

“Is that family honor you speak of the kind that locks a child in a storage room for being useless and treats them worse than an animal?”

“You insolent brat...!”

“I never once betrayed the family’s blood.

You were the ones who abandoned me first.”

Su-bin slowly extended his right hand. Then the pureblood magic flowing through Su-bin’s veins burst forth like an explosion, and from Su-bin’s fingertips a massive greatsword made of crimson magic took shape.

It was a powerful form that, back when Su-bin was a hunter, had never once been brought forth.

The family head’s eyes were painted with shock.

“Th- that much magic...?”

“Impossible! That bastard was a failure who didn’t even have sensitivity!”

“The ability you called a failure simply could not bloom within the narrow rules you forced on it.”

Su-bin’s body shot out like a chain, leaving not even an afterimage behind.

KWA-ANG!

Su-bin’s sword tip shattered the uncle’s protective barrier in one blow and split the courtyard floor wide open.

The four elite hunters standing in front were instantly knocked back by Su-bin’s merciless sword wind.

There was not a single flaw in any of his movements.

As the martial arts Su-bin had learned as a hunter were joined by pureblood power, Su-bin had become the perfect slaughterer dominating the courtyard.

The family hunters panicked and all at once hurled holy-water daggers and talismans at Su-bin, but Su-bin evaded every attack at a bizarre angle and proceeded to destroy their weapons one by one.

“Kraah! No way... is that really Choi Su-bin?!”

By the time the courtyard had turned into a battlefield, the uncle gritted his teeth and pulled the family treasure, the ‘Chain of the Holy Seal,’ from his chest.

It was the family’s final weapon, said to restrain even purebloods. As the uncle chanted, silver chains coiled like snakes around Su-bin’s limbs, trying to seal away Su-bin’s magic.

“It’s over, you madman!”

The silver chains wrapped around Su-bin’s shoulders and legs, making the flesh burn.

Just as Su-bin let out a stifled groan and was about to drop to his knees.

Paa-aat!

Along with the vicious scent of roses slicing through the air, Yeonjun with red eyes appeared behind Su-bin.

With a single gesture, Yeonjun casually seized the Holy Seal chains binding Su-bin’s limbs and shattered them to pieces.

The silver energy burned Yeonjun’s palm, but Yeonjun only gave a languid smile as if it meant nothing and embraced Su-bin around the waist, pulling him back upright.

“You trying to torment my other half in front of me again?”

Yeonjun’s red pupils flashed like flames from hell.

“Mr. Yeonjun...”

“Good job, Su-bin. You’ve proven you can wipe out all these pathetic losers by yourself.”

Yeonjun kissed Su-bin’s cheek lightly, then placed his hand over Su-bin’s on the sword hilt.

Yeonjun, the ruler of purebloods, let his magic flow into Su-bin’s blade, doubling the size of the crimson greatsword and staining the entire courtyard blood-red.

A resonance in which the two of their magic intertwined perfectly as one.

“Now, let’s finish this.”

Yeonjun whispered gently in Su-bin’s ear.

As Su-bin and Yeonjun swung their swords at the same time, a massive red slash swept across the entire courtyard.

The family head and the elite hunters were flung back with screams, and the family’s venerable barrier stones, long a point of pride, split cleanly in two and collapsed.

When the dust settled, not a single hunter remained in the courtyard who could still point a blade at Su-bin.

The family head, vomiting blood and sprawled on the ground, stared at Su-bin and Yeonjun standing beneath the moonlight with their arms around each other, his eyes filled with terror.

Su-bin was no longer the family’s shame, nor a failure. Su-bin was another ruler of the night, one no one could dare challenge.

Su-bin looked down coldly at the uncle and declared in a voice like ice.

“Go back and tell them this: as of today, all ties with the family are severed.

If you cross the boundary of this mansion again, then the entire family’s name will disappear from this world.”

Su-bin’s final farewell was cold and resolute.

In the middle of the hunting ground thick with blood and ashes, Yeonjun smiled softly in satisfaction as he wound his fingers around each of Su-bin’s, one by one.

The perfect eternity of just the two of them was drawing near.
