We decided not to cross the line (Season 2)

Episode 15. A younger guy who’s not easy to handle

I stood quietly and

watched Hunji for a long while.

He, too, said nothing as he looked back at me,

then quietly opened his mouth.

"Why are you looking at me like that...?"

I didn’t answer and

kept looking at him.

Then I slowly spoke.

"My heart...

is thinking about where it is right now."

"So where is Junga’s heart right now

located?"

"I... don’t know..."

I took a moment to choose my words, then spoke.

"I thought I was getting better...

starting over... ha..."

In the end, I couldn’t go on and lowered my head.

"Let’s sit down for a bit."

The pitch-black night

was filled with the sound of crickets,

and stars were twinkling in the sky.

Every time the wind brushed past my cheek,

my heart tickled.

"Hunji! Hold my hand for me."

"Huh?"

"Come on! Try holding it.

I want to see if it’s shaking now that you’re holding it."

He gently took my hand.

"It feels like the way I used to tremble at first

isn't there anymore..."

"Really? You’re not shaking at all?"

I asked while holding his hand tightly.

"Are you shaking, Hunji?"

He looked down at my hand for a moment, then said,

"I don’t know about shaking..."

After pausing for a moment, he

held my hand a little tighter.

"I like it...

it’s been so long since we’ve held hands like this...

and you feel nothing? "

"See?

We’ve already passed the point where holding hands makes us shake."

"Then should we try something else?

to see if it makes us shake?"

"Something else like what?"

He said with a perfectly calm expression.

"If we try kissing...

we might know more accurately."

"Who said to use a trick?"

I pinched both his cheeks.

"Ah...ah... it hurts.

Okay. Cancel..."

I let go of his cheeks and

leaned back against the bench.

After looking at him for a moment, I spoke.

"Hunji.

Close your eyes for me."

"Really? Close my eyes?"

"Yes..."

Hunji, looking as if he expected something,

closed his eyes.

I gently placed one earbud into his ear.

"The smell of grass,

music,

the wind you can feel...

and starlight pouring down from the sky...

it's so peaceful, right?"

"Yes..."

After a short silence,

he said,

"So... when are we going to do it?"

I snorted with a laugh.

"Thank you for making this place...

somewhere I’d want to come back to, Hunji."

He turned his head

and I could feel him looking my way.

With my eyes still closed,

I went on.

"Maybe it’d be better for us

to stay like this.

Not fighting each other,

no jealousy...

peaceful and nice, isn’t it?

Right?"

"But if it stays like this, either of us could

end up with someone else anytime.

And... friends can’t even do skinship..."

At the word skinship,

I laughed.

"Our Hunji, when did you get so... heh"

"I’ll think about it."

"Really?

You’re going to think about it?"

"Yes..."

"I was on edge, thinking you might draw the line right away..."

"Let’s take about six months.

By then,

maybe you’ll have sorted out your feelings too."

"No. Six months is way too long.

Make it three months.

I’m not that little younger Park Hunji who’d just obediently listen

to whatever Junga says anymore."

"That means you’re not older Park Hunji either, right?"

"I’m not some easygoing younger guy anymore!"

"Yes... oppa..."

His bold expression was just too cute.

'My heart... what’s wrong with it?

Am I getting fluttery again...?'

"Will you come with me?"
