Episode 37. Obsession

entered the 1st-floor front door with Director Kim

stood in front of the elevator.





I could feel his silent gaze.






"Mr. Kim Coward.

Don't make such anxious eyes.

It's nothing."





 
"Can you tell I'm being anxious?"






"Yeah. A lot.

There’s a place where I went stargazing with Hoonji...

We were walking, and the night sky looked clear today, so

I went on a whim and ran into him by chance.

Then my car wouldn’t start,

so he just gave me a ride home."

A brief silence passed.




"Why didn’t you ask me to go with you?"





"Taehyung went off after getting a call from the company.






And I didn’t go thinking, I have to go,

I just happened to go because I was looking at the night sky."

I looked at Director Kim’s face and





continued.

"Of all times, just as I was about to leave,





the engine wouldn’t start, you know?"

The battery must’ve died.

I was about to call the insurance company, but it was already late at night,

so I just rode home with him."

We came into the house.





But...




Director Kim had barely come in when he suddenly stopped in his tracks and

opened his mouth.

"Jung-ah..."






After hesitating for a moment, he looked at me.





"If Hoonji keeps circling around you...






can I still stay by your side like this?

Can you really not waver?"

Hearing that, I froze






like ice.

Then I turned to look at him.

"What kind of thing is that to say?






Taehyung, you know you're saying something unbelievably stupid right now, right?"

"You spent time together, didn't you?






And I saw how much you two liked each other,

so I know.

I just started worrying all of a sudden..."

I hugged him tightly.

and kissed him.

"Hey! If you’re going to steal our first kiss like that,

Director Kim muttered.





"No... well, whose fault is it for taking so long?





If I kept waiting, it’d be next year."

I snorted and





pulled away from him, heading to the kitchen.

But suddenly, he came up behind me and hugged me, saying,

I held his hands tightly with both of mine.





"If you say something that stupid again in the future,






know that I’ll run away without even looking back.

Got it?"

He hugged me even tighter.





"Will you let go of me already?





I’m thirsty. I need something to drink.

Taehyung, do you want something too?"

"Yeah. I got so nervous too,





I’m thirsty."

"Then I’ll make you some iced tea."





He gulped down a glass of iced tea in one go.





Then he stood up from his seat.

"I’m going now, so






get some rest soon.

It’s Monday tomorrow, so you must be tired."

"Yeah. You should go home and sleep too.






You didn’t have to come all the way here..."

"Thanks to that, I got a kiss."






At his words, I let out a quiet laugh.






After seeing him off,





I washed up and lay down in bed.

When I opened my phone to set the alarm,






there was a message.
