Meeting them

["Attention all freshmen, kindly proceed to the auditorium for the Orientation Program".]


I flinched hearing the paging system for the fifth time. I hate being late so I arrived fifteen minutes before the start. Lifting my eyeglass a little as I look around the auditorium. It's pretty spacious and can even fit two thousand students I think?



Guess some of the freshmen likes attention or wants to be the main attraction, seeing only half of the attendees came at the right time.



"Five minutes" I look into my watch counting the time left before the program starts.



I'm so bored I wanna go home and read books or watch anime. Yeah, nerd right? try to judge me.



"Hey miss is this seat taken?" Somebody just popped on my side asking



I smile a little and look at him. "No, It's ok you can just sit there."



"Thanks!" He replied with a smile and immediately sits beside me but the seat pumps back before he can sit, bangs on the floor with a lot of noise so we got the crowds attention.



Some of the crowd just laugh and others just looked and get back to business. Is this his first time seating on a folding chair?



"Ouch! That hurts!" standing up while holding his bum and then sits back.



Such a clumsy little fella, He looks small and cute like a little brother. I can't help but to chuckle




"Hey are you laughing at me?" My smile faded as I look at him shocked.




"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh" I explained defensively. 



He doesn't look angry so I guess I'm spared?




"It's ok, such a clumsy way to start the school year" He said, letting out a deep sigh.



"Daisuke your so clumsy as always!" someone shouted





"Shut up!" He shouted back




"I love you?" I curiously ask. It's a japanese term for I love you right?




"W-what?" He look at me shocked and blushing




"I mean-




"Attention freshmen please be seated we will now start the program" 




And there the Orientation starts, welcoming speech from the president, speech from the top student on entrance exam. Fortunately, that's not me I came second so that's why i'm spared from the speech, works for me. Announcement of club signing after the programme and many more. 




I was there listening and paitently waiting for the end of the event because I was eager to do the club signing event after this.




Of course I have a club in mind but I don't know if they have it so I'll just look for it.




"And that concludes the program. Again dear freshmens welcome to Silver Scale Academy! After this your exit will be on the right kindly proceed to the club signing isle. Don't forget to sign for atleast one club now because we will be conducting events for the freshmen welcome party."




There finished! I slowly prepared to leave and noticed the clumsy guy already missing. He must be more excited than I am.



"Well it's not my business to mind" 




I calmly walking following the crowd silently wishing there will be clubs with books or with connect to anime.



"OMG! Are you the Lian Jaze from West High?" a group of girls wearing cheer club uniform



I smiled while fixing my thick eyeglasses



"Uhmm yes? I was from West High" Not really sure what to say




They chuckled. Is this it? the bullying thing that comes if you are a nerd? I was panicking didn't know what to do. Do I have to smash their faces or lift them in the air? Oh no what to do?




I flinched when one of them tapped my shoulders.



"What's with that expression silly, You're as humble as they say. We would like to welcome you to the Academy and ask if you want to join the cheering club" 




I blushed out of embarrassment after realizing I already smashed their faces in my mind while they were just so nice to welcome me.





"Yeah that's right we are your fans and we know what you are cable of so please join us." The girl with the high bun says.




The look of anticipation overwhelmed me so I stepped a back while waving my hands.




"No no I'm sorry I have other clubs in mind."



Their shoulders dropped and I felt bad.



"Pitty. We'll not force you to join but you can visit our club anytime you want ok?" said the girl with high pony



I just nodded





"Be sure to do ok?" said the high bun girl




I nodded again




"Are you sure? If not we will hunt you from your classes." Said the long haired girl




"Yes yes I will! Gonna get going bye!" I immediately run away not hearing their reply. 





"I wonder why they are so clingy? It made me cringe a little giving me goosebumps" I said while criss-crossing my arms and shaking because of the chill.




I thought I will get bullied but I guess like in west high they are not so into dramas like bullying. Luckily my school life is peaceful even if I chose to look like this, plain clothes in a jeans, long black wavy hair - not messy, and a pair of thick eyeglasses. I have a really bad eyesight.




What is it that I do on west high that made them know me? I was so curious because I made sure to not have the spotlight may good or bad. Honestly I hate attention and I don't need it in my life.



"Hi freshman! would you like to goin our club?" I was stopped buy a tall guy with a midlength ash blonde hair. He was smiling ear to ear that his eyes already went missing. 



I don't know how to decline him with that look on his face. And to tell you honestly he is kinda cute for a tall guy.



"I'm Shuaibo from drama club, our booth is right there at the 2nd post. If you are interested please visit us there ok? see you!" he handed me flyers and run towards other freshmen




"Miss? Hello are you ok? why are you standing still in the middle of the way?"



"Oh I-Im sorry I spaced out a litt-" again speechless




"Anyways I'm Steven from Student Council and here is our clubs form. We are looking for a member who will audit our funds and I got this feeling you are capable enough for the position. So if ever you want to just hand me this form ok?" He bend to the side a little while smiling then lightly tap my shoulders before leaving.




I subconsciously held my chest because my heart feels like it's about to burst.



"What is wrong with me? Maybe I had a lot of coffee this morning." 




I continue roaming around clubs but still no hope of the one I wanted. It's not even impossible for a school with no book clubs right?




"Why are there no Book clubs here? Is it hopeless?" I can't help but pout a little. If there is no book club maybe I'll just join whatever club flyers i have with me.



Really really disappointed because I love books and I hate attention and very active workload like drama club or student council.



"Book Club where are you really?"




"You can't find it because it doesn't exist" I turn around and saw a guy with short but messy wavy hair. The most noticeable part of his face is that mole under the corner of his right eye.





"I'm JL, and if books are what you want, we have them in hobby club. Here join us" I feel weird because I don't know if he is just nonchalant or he is just bored but his face looks blank.





"Uhm uh thank you?" I grabbed the form and read it.




"So where is your booth located?" he stared at me with disbelief like I'm giving him extra work.




"Let's go" after that he lend out a hand




"Uh  what? is there a club fee?" I curiously ask him but instead of answering he just rolled his eyes and grab me on the wrist part of my jacket.




"W-Wait where are you taking me?"





"Hobby Club?" He stated like it's the obvious. How do I know that? He just grab a stranger out of nowhere. 





"We didn't held a booth because it's too much work and those who would like to join will look for us anyways." He said while still dragging me in a slow walk.





"Uhm Senior Jl C-can you?" I ask with embarrassment





"Can I what?" He ask not even looking at me






"T-Those people are looking at us. Maybe you could just release my jacket?" He pulled it long enough though


..



He look around and notice it too, we are still at the long isle of school club booths so it is given there are so many people watching us.





"Hey JL! how dare you kidnap Lian to join your club? She will join us you know!" Someone shouted at the drama club. maybe that's Senior Shuaibo. Did I tell him my name? I can't remember.





We both look at the booth and I saw that clumsy kid beside Senior Shuaibo. I guess he's joining the drama club.





"Not sure about that!" He shouted too. Then laughed evily





Atlast I saw some expression with his face. He looks radiant with that smile and playful expression.






"Come let's continue heading to the club" he released his hold on my jacket and I followed him walking.






It's like his mood changed 360˚ after that conversation. Maybe he is just having a bad day?

Or not!




"Fill out forms there." He turned back to being nonchalant what the?!






As I sat on a chair in a long table I followed him with a stare. He looks bored throw himself on the couch then proceed to reading. I just shooked my head in disbelief. what a weird guy he is.





By the way this place is cozy and pretty spacious, with a meeting table, white board, 2 long couches and 3 bean bags, a computer set more like a gaming set, 2 big bookshelf, a wide wall mounted tv screen, and a guy looking bored while reading.




So here is the arrangement. from the entrance - the meeting table, from the left - gaming setup - wide tv screen - book shelfs and at the center of it all the couches and bean bags.



It's big, sorted out by hobbies giving space for each other and I kinda like the little boundary walls for privacy.




"Hey I'm finished with the form. Can I look around?"





"Go ahead but be sure don't disturb others" he said while still reading. I just shrug my shoulders and proceed to walk.




I'm not even sure if there are someone besides us because you can still see what's behind the wall boundaries because it's not tall enough, more or less three and a half feet. And of course I directly walk towards the reading section but I stopped midway when I noticed a door on the right corner. It's a little open so my curiousity wins, I held the knob and pulled it open.






"What the!" 





"AAAH!"
