I took a deep breath. I must have held it for quite some time, almost as if I'd forgotten how to exhale.

"No way. It's been a while, hyung."

"I heard you were in the same class as Taehyung. Did you two say hello?"
박지민
"You know how true close friends don't greet each other? It's been years since we last saw each other."
"What? Do you really know him?"
김남준
"Yeah. My little brother's friend. You guys can eat together today. I'll go up and eat with Jimin."
The seniors, who had been looking at Kim Namjoon and Park Jimin with curiosity, said they understood and moved to another seat. But even as they moved, I couldn't take my eyes off them.

I blurted out the words, thinking I should use informal language with Park Jimin and formal language with Kim Namjoon. I opened my mouth to try to calm things down, but Jimin was quicker to chuckle.

"Okay, okay. I won't laugh. Eat."
Park Jimin lightly wiped away a tear at the corner of his eye and wrinkled his nose. Unable to think of anything else to say, he concentrated on devouring the rice topped with kimchi.
박지민
"What are you doing here, hyung? You're the kind of person who wouldn't blink an eye no matter what happens."
김남준
"What's going on? I'm coming to the cafeteria to eat, but do I need your permission?"
박지민
"You know that's not what I meant."
It's incredibly uncomfortable to have a conversation among yourself in front of other people. It was surprising how casually Park Jimin spoke to Kim Namjoon, whose expression vanished as soon as his seniors passed by.
김남준
"Is it because you're stupid? I warned you before, but you didn't listen right away."

김남준
"Hang out with kids your level is right for you. Don't bring shame on your family."
The cold words pierced my ears. The rice I swallowed wouldn't go down my throat.
Finally, I slammed the spoon I was holding down on the table with a clank, and at the same time, Kim Namjoon stood up, holding his plate. I could clearly see the rice still there, barely touched, but he seemed unconcerned.

Suddenly, Park Jimin spoke up. I thought he was talking to me, but when I looked up and saw his face, his expression was just as stiff as mine, and I had a strange question.

"Because humans are the animals that are best at rationalizing themselves."
Kim Namjoon pushed his chair back in and left, seemingly blocking any further conversation. My eyes followed him until he completely left the cafeteria, but soon a voice called my name, forcing me to turn my head again.

"Hey, have you finished eating?"

박지민
"Let's go now. I can't eat any more."
There was still about half of my meal left, but I couldn't even think to tell her I hadn't finished it all. The corners of her mouth were smiling, but her eyes were fixed on me. She seemed impatient, carrying my plate and throwing it away without giving me a chance to respond.
박지민
"⋯⋯."
I had no choice but to quietly follow behind Park Jimin as he pushed past the students without hesitation.
I really broke all of those packs. Even the Joker was broken. Seriously!! Now, quickly guess their relationship...
