9. An unexpected reunion

Dinner after work.

Seyun got off at the bus stop and was walking slowly down the alley.

It had been a long day. Myungho's thoughts had crossed my mind, but I was so caught up in work that I naturally forgot about him.

As Seyun endured the day, a familiar apartment complex slowly appeared before her eyes.

At that moment—the footsteps stopped quietly.

정세연
‘… This house isn’t even mine… I feel uncomfortable for no reason… I keep feeling like I’m being watched… ’

I looked up at the sky for a moment.

The wind blew gently, and the blue darkness was gradually settling down.

정세연
‘…But I have nowhere to go. I can’t help it.’

After muttering to herself, Seyun quietly walked forward again and arrived at the front door of the apartment.

That moment.

????
“Seyeon-ah.”

A familiar voice. But it was a tone I no longer wanted to hear.

My body froze for a moment. My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes fluttered.

She slowly turned her head and saw Minhyuk in her field of vision.

He was wearing a neat shirt, but his eyes still sparkled with a familiar selfishness and uncomfortable confidence.

During her time studying abroad in China, he was the man who isolated and oppressed Seyeon.

정세연
“…Yoo Min-hyuk…?”

유민혁
“Long time no see? I couldn’t reach you—did you change your number?”

He approached with a familiar smile. His movements naturally attempted to close the distance. Seyeon took a step back.

정세연
“…Why did you come? How did you come?”

유민혁
“You still don’t know me? Find me wherever you are and go.

유민혁
"You came to ask me for help. I heard you were in Korea, so I came to see you. We still have a connection, after all."

Seyun's hands began to tremble. Her breathing became increasingly rapid, and her toes began to tiptoe backward.

정세연
“Just go away. I told you not to contact me again.”

Minhyuk tilted his head in a teasing manner, still with a smile on his face.

유민혁
“Hey, I was a bit sensitive back then. I’m really having a hard time these days. Can you help me out for a moment?

유민혁
“If you have some money—”

정세연
“No. There’s nothing like that, so go back.”

At that moment, a deep shadow fell over Minhyuk's face. His expression hardened, and his voice cracked.

유민혁
"Would you have survived in China without me back then? You cried and listened to me—"

????
“…Seyeon.”

A low, firm voice.

As if to cut off Minhyuk's words, someone approached from behind.

Seyeon was startled for a moment and turned around. The man was radiant, even in his casual attire.

Even in the darkness, his eyes were clear and his face was calm. It was Myeongho.

디에잇(명호)
“Who is this person?”

His voice was calm, but his eyes were firm.

Minhyuk glanced at Myeongho and snorted.

유민혁
"What, a boyfriend? Why, does this type of guy suit me right now?"

Without a word, Myeongho approached Seyeon and quietly wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him.

And then he slowly looked at Minhyuk and said.

디에잇(명호)
“Let’s go. It looks like a desperate situation, and right now, there seems to be no reason for me to see you.”

His speech was lower than usual, and his tone was cold.

It seemed as if there was no emotion in it, but its coldness felt rather threatening.

유민혁
“Hah..na..this is really....what are you saying, hey! Who are you—”

디에잇(명호)
“I don’t need to know who it is. Should I call the police?”

It was short and sweet.

Before Myungho could finish speaking, Minhyuk's face had already hardened.

There was no wavering in his eyes, and the sharpness and coolness that radiated from his words were also evident in his words.

Minhyuk sighed, turned around, and muttered softly.

유민혁
“…Oh really, I’ll see all sorts of things.”

Even after he completely disappeared, Seyeon was still standing there.

A small, trembling breath, stiff shoulders. Only then did Myeongho lower his head and ask cautiously.

디에잇(명호)
"are you okay?"

She nodded, her eyes slightly moist. Myungho looked away for a moment, then spoke softly again.

디에잇(명호)
“Now… let’s go home..”

The ending was quiet, but that one word told me that I was no longer alone.
