01. Unrequited love

first love

This is an experience that everyone has, and just hearing it makes my heart race and feel faint.

I also have a first love whose name I just call and whose heart flutters and I miss.

"Hey, where did you go to middle school?"

변백현

"I'm from EXO Middle School"

나여주

"ah...."

변백현

"Why? It's a shame lol"

나여주

"What are you talking about? It's because there's no one left to tease you about."

It's already been three years since I've been in the same class as this guy.

Byun Baek-hyun, who is handsome and kind compared to other boys his age, is not very popular with either girls or boys because of his only flaw: he is very shy.

At first, I didn't like Byun Baek-hyun because he was too quiet, but as we got to know each other, I found him to be a pretty decent guy.

Around the end of fifth grade, after I became close friends with Byun Baekhyun, my heart began to waver a little.

Even over trivial things, he would laugh heartily, and even though it was right next door, he would walk me home every day to the front of the building. As we became closer, I began to feel a flutter of excitement towards Byun Baekhyun, and at one point, I thought I was crazy.

But around the beginning of the year 60, there was a decisive event that drove a wedge into my heart.

"Hey, are you guys dating? You two always stick together, right?"

Baekhyun Byun said with a meaningful expression on his face.

"What are you talking about? My boyfriend and I are just really close friends."

At that moment, my heart pounded and I felt bitter. That's when I knew for sure. I loved Byun Baekhyun.

So, Baekhyun and I drifted apart. Even though we lived right next door, we hadn't met even once in the four years since.

The reason all my stuff is green is because it's a habit I've been doing unconsciously since I drifted apart from Byun Baekhyun.

'First period...English?'

I have no interest or curiosity in studying and I'm not particularly good at anything, so when I come to school, I just collapse and sleep until the end of the day.

'Should I drop out?'

My head ached from the constant barrage of questions. So, I collapsed on my desk and tried to fall asleep.

In my dream, I faintly heard Byun Baek-hyun's voice.

"Hello, I'm Byun Baekhyun. Please take care of me."

나여주

'Now I can even hear auditory hallucinations.'

I chuckled a little at the pleasant dream I'd had for the first time in a while. But the dream didn't last long.

"ouch...."

"Hey, Yeoju!! Who would fall asleep during class!! You follow me to the teacher's office later, transfer student, sit next to Yeoju"

변백현

"Pfft.. phew.."

What the heck? Who's laughing at me? I turned my half-asleep eyes toward the sound and couldn't help but be shocked.

변백현

"Hey, long time no see~ But is it bad to sleep like that during class?"
