Những con đường giao nhau

The ice cold fingertips brushed past her neck, sending cold shivers down her spine. The touch indeed felt oddly real. But as she waved her fingers this time Infront of his face, to feel what it felt like back then, it felt like touching the air, only if there was such a thing like that. His face looked hurt when he realized she couldn't touch him anymore. And with time, he kept slipping away from her further and further away. She wanted to scream his name, but words didn't escape her lips, she tried so hard to produce a sound but utter silence filled the room, with his figure slowly fading away. With one final shout, her body sat upright and eyes opened wide, hands gripping on the bedsheet tighter as if they were provoked by a deep guilt. But those weren't hers. Those fair hands showing the veins weren't hers.

Another nightmare huh?

She blinked twice and sighed in relief upon identifying the soothing voice of her fiancé. An ephemeral smile appeared on her lips which soon disappeared after probably remembering the name that woke her up, the name she shouted out so loud to only make her fiancé grit in anger.

She was prepared for the same old question from her boyfriend.

Seongwu, is it?

Hyena sprung from her bed and ran towards her bathroom and quickly ransacked her mini cupboards. As soon as she found her drug, she popped two pills of Alprazolam down her throat and slowly, in a zombie like manner, walked back to her bed.

The whole situation wasn't new to Yohan. He's seen her suffer this way before too, but not over someone who didn't even exist.

Hyena started speaking her mind. All those encounters she'd been having with this imaginary person were one by one revealed to her boyfriend. He couldn't feel more pathetic. He drew her close in his embrace and patted her forehead rhythmically, putting her to sleep.

It's been months since she last saw Seongwu and they thought she was getting better until the dream she had a while ago.
It could be just a dream. Or it could mean more than just something. No one knew the answers with certainty.

But Yohan wanted to be there for her. Their wedding day was nearing too. Just like any man, he too had his insecurities, times when he felt jealousy taking over his alter ego. He hated that one name more than anything else. He spent nights going through thesis on Brief Psychotic Disorders. A self limiting condition with chances of recurrence.....
He even wondered sometimes if Seongwu was real. But watching his girlfriend fall asleep, with the face of an angel, he couldn't wish for anything else but her happiness. Even if Seongwu was real and she'd be happy with him, he'd let her go. He started calming his mind with these thoughts and filling his head with ideas of her being happy and content.
