It's okay if you don't have a dream.
It's okay if you're not good at studying.
What you have is worth it.

"Uh, you..."
***
Seokjin and Hayeon entered a nearby café, offering to buy coffee. As the awkward silence between them, filled with the sounds of people talking and the music emanating from the café, fell, Hayeon spoke first.
"how have you been doing···?"
"Well...so-so."

"I heard from the kids that you went to medical school."
"I'll be graduating this year." Ha-yeon's face darkened as the word "medical school" left Seok-jin's mouth. Seok-jin hadn't heard anything else from her after that, so he didn't know what had happened to Ha-yeon, and he simply thought of her as a medical student.
"Ah... I did go to medical school...."

"··· I dropped out after my first year."
It was an unexpected answer. He'd thought the daughter of the chairman of Seoul's largest hospital would live a carefree, untroubled life. Then, she dropped out of medical school. From Seokjin's perspective, it was simply incomprehensible.
"You know, I'm living under my father's thumb."

"I went because my dad told me to, but that kind of thing just doesn't suit me."
"So I dropped out right after my freshman year, and now I just work at a company."
Now I'm completely free from my dad. I dropped out, got scolded severely, and became independent. Now, I'm smiling and talking like this, but Ha-yeon's smile, unable to be cheerful, felt somehow lonely.
"How have you been?"

"Well, I'm busy because I started working right after graduating from college."
Although they couldn't see each other, behind the scenes, Seokjin and Hayeon had been living quite diligently. Perhaps because their relationship wasn't good, the conversation ended with Seokjin's obligatory response.
Then, suddenly, a vibration sound rang and Seokjin looked at his phone. He saw that his team leader was calling. Only then did Seokjin realize it was work time and he tried to say something to Hayeon, but he didn't know what to say.
"Shouldn't I go in and take a look?"
It was Hayeon who spoke first to Seokjin, who seemed to have something to say, watching her closely. Seokjin looked at her briefly, then said, "I'll be going," and stood up.

"··· bye."
Seokjin, who had gathered his phone and coffee and stood up, stopped in his tracks at Hayeon's small words. Was it because those words of goodbye brought back memories of six years ago? Or because he felt like this would be the first and last time he and Hayeon would have an emotionless conversation?
Seokjin remembered. His first and last conversation with Hayeon. To him, Hayeon was someone he hated so much that he wanted to expel her, not just suspend her. But six years later, perhaps he'd grown numb to it, or perhaps he'd forgotten about it.Because there is no 19-year-old Seokjin who speaks his mind anymore.

"··· Take care."
The ill-fated relationship that seemed like it would never end at the age of 19 finally ended six years later at the age of 25. As time passed, I grew and matured more than before.Turning a crisis that would otherwise be easier to avoid into an opportunity.
Leo Tolstory said this:

When small changes occur, you begin to live a truly fulfilling life.
Today, a small but big change occurred for Hayeon and Seokjin, allowing them to finally live a true life.

broadcasting station
The music show began, and Seoyoung, who had finished preparing for the stage, waited for the moment to move backstage, alternating between the cue sheet and the broadcast. After the MC's comments, Seoyoung checked the cue sheet, did a final check of her makeup and set, and then completed all preparations.
"Yoon Seo-young, it's your turn to play for two teams, so please come down to the stage as soon as you're ready."
As the waiting room, which had been noisy and chaotic until just a moment ago, became quiet, Seoyoung took a deep breath, opened the waiting room door, and headed backstage.
The backstage area was bustling and noisy, with numerous staff members attending to two stages: one currently in progress and one soon to be completed. Seoyoung was holding a microphone in the midst of the chaos, preparing to go up on stage.

"Did the mic sound cutting out and the left earpiece sound getting quieter during rehearsal go away?"
"Yes, I increased the volume of the left earpiece and adjusted the MR and voice to the same volume."
"And at the last chorus, fireworks will go off, don't be surprised."
Having completed all the final preparations, Seoyoung stood in front of the stairs, waiting to go on stage. As soon as the performance just before Seoyoung's was over, the MC's commentary came out, and everyone backstage became busy again.
"Yoon Seo-young, I'll go up."
Seoyoung finally went up on stage. The stage was filled with people who had come to see Seoyoung, and Seoyoung smiled and greeted them before climbing up onto the platform in the middle of the stage.

company lobby
- "Brother!"

- "Where are you, have you arrived?"
- "Yeah, I'm in front of the company now."
Seokjin, having finished all his work on time with his girlfriend, had just arrived on the first floor. Perhaps because it was a little earlier than the usual closing time, the first floor seemed empty except for Seokjin.
- "It's not over yet? Are you waiting?"
- "No, I just finished, I'll be right back."
Seokjin, who was passing through the middle of the first floor, stopped in his tracks when he heard a familiar singing voice coming from somewhere. He was looking around the lobby when he heard a familiar voice that he had definitely heard somewhere. His gaze stopped at the large TV in front of him.
To be exact, our eyes were fixed on each other. Since graduating from high school, we've been so busy with each other's work that we haven't had time to contact each other or even meet up.We naturally drifted apart.

Because Seoyoung was there. And she did it with a happy expression as she held the microphone, a candidate for first place on a terrestrial music show. Seokjin couldn't take his eyes off Seoyoung, who had finally achieved her dream of becoming a singer.

The same happy expression she wore when she sang, whether six years ago or now. A voice that only Seoyoung could produce. As memories of her high school days with Seoyoung began to surface, Seokjin fell into deep thought.
From the not-so-good first meeting with Seoyoung, to the few days of fighting, to the day I first heard Seoyoung sing, to the moments when our hearts were like the ocean when we thought of each other.Everything became one big memory.
- "Brother? What's wrong?"
He called her several times, but she didn't answer. Only then did Seokjin snap out of his reverie and return to reality. His gaze was still fixed on Seoyoung on the TV, and her singing voice still echoed from the first floor.
- "Uh, no. Nothing..."
Seoyoung's smile as she looked at the camera was transmitted to Seokjin.I hope that moment will be the happiest for you in the future.Seokjin smiled as he looked at Seoyoung and started walking his own path again.
There are children who shine the brightest when they live in reality and children who shine the brightest when they live in dreams.

So you have your value, I have my value.

Protecting and nurturing each other's unique values.

The values you cherish will shine, and someone will know them, and the world will know them.

It's okay if you don't have a dream. It's okay if you're not good at studying.

What you have is worth it.
END.
I hope you, like Seokjin, don't focus solely on your studies. Instead, take a break from time to time, look around, and, like Seoyoung, pursue your dreams and work hard to achieve them. That's the theme and message of this article.
Thank you for watching 'The Value of Having' so far. :)
