"There's this too, hyung, listen," Bae said as Daesung returned to the computer.
-In 2008, at the age of 20, he passed the exams at the Higher School of Commercial Studies, then disappeared without any explanation, reappeared a year later, dropped out of that school and started studying oenology (winemaking) – Bae said, reading the exhaustive research they had done with Daesung.
"That's interesting," Top remarked.
"What did he do during that year?" Top asked.
"Nobody knows, not even his father," Bae said, entering the bathroom to change his clothes.
"Nobody knows," Top whispered, defeated.
Early in the morning, Bae and Top were practicing the steps of Dirty Dancing, Bae getting frustrated by Top's lack of coordination and Top getting frustrated by so many movements that Bae was repeating to him.
"For God's sake, hyung, you can do action scenes but you can't do a decent move?" Bae said, agitated.
"Because you move around too much!" Top shouted.
-Now again, 1, 2, 3 and turn, hip, turn, shoulder, hip, turn, easy hyung... - he said, repeating the step
"Turn around, turn around, TURN AROUND!" Bae shouted, completely defeated, while a disguised Ji walked through the hotel reception, almost running to the door.
At that moment, Daesung entered Seung's room startled, indicating that Ji had left, but he was ignored and shouted when he saw that Top and Bae were still dancing.
"He's gone!" Bae shouted as Top looked at him, bewildered.
"Jiyong's gone!" Daesung called out again, making Top hurry and get ready to go after Jiyong.
"Shit!" Top said, trying to put on his shoes and shirt at the same time over a white t-shirt.
"Your earbud!" Bae shouted, handing it to him.
"Mr. Kwon?" Top asked one of the boys in the parking lot, buttoning his shirt.
"I don't know," the boy said, leaving the place. At that moment, Top spotted Ji in a taxi, who, wearing his black glasses, was mockingly waving goodbye from inside the taxi.
"A taxi with license plate SH7809, find it," Top said through his imperceptible microphone to Dae and Bae who were still at the hotel, while Top ran taking a shortcut to catch up with the taxi. At that moment, Daesung entered the security cameras of the area to see the blessed taxi while Top found a couple looking at a bicycle and asking to borrow it, taking it without giving explanations.
"Isn't that your mom up there?" Top pointed at the young owner of the bicycle, making him turn around to take the bike.
"Hey In Ha, your bike!" shouted the girl, trying to stop Top, who had already mounted and started pedaling.
"Sorry, I'll give it back to you," shouted Top, already in the taxi and starting a chase after Ji's taxi.
"Already?" Top asked Dae through the earpiece.
"I've got it, on Gwonghye Street," Daesung said, taking pictures of Ji's taxi. This made Top pedal harder to get there.
"Where is he? He's not here," said Top, who had arrived on the street.
"Wait, I'm watching you," Dae said.
"I've got it, I've got it, at the port, go!" Daesung exclaimed euphorically, while Top pedaled faster, hurrying to reach the port that was a few blocks away.
Meanwhile, Ji had boarded a boat in the area, all captured by security cameras. Dae, who had accessed the system, watched everything, and he and Bae yelled at Top to hurry up. When Top arrived at the port, still on his bicycle at full speed, he spotted Ji's outfit, hurrying to get back as he saw that she had already untied the small boat.
When I arrived at the unloading area, I left the bicycle and ran at full speed, jumping towards the ship where I looked at Ji's outfit, barely managing to grab onto the ship's railings. With difficulty, I got into the ship, approaching Ji who was at one end of the vessel.
"You can't get rid of me like that," Top exclaimed, already breathless, approaching Ji's figure and touching his shoulder, making the young man, who wore his trench coat, glasses, and handkerchief, turn around.
"What?" Top said, on the verge of despair, when he fixed his gaze on Ji, who was wearing a white tank top and black skinny jeans, waving to him from another boat.
"Damn conceited brat," Top said sulkily, watching Ji get his way.
..............................................................
That same day, Top was outside a store waiting for Ji to deign to come out, annoyed by what had happened hours before, but he had already planned something with Bae and Daesung, so he was just coldly calculating each of his next moves.
"Your father pays me to guarantee your safety, whether you like it or not... in 7 years, I've never been treated so badly," Top scolded Jiyong, who just looked at him with a mocking smile.
"If you want to end my services, it's 50,000," Top demanded, looking at him defiantly.
"Excuse me?" Ji asked, smiling inwardly.
"15 days at 2,000 is 30,000, plus 20,000 for breaking the contract," Top explained calmly as Ji immediately took out his checkbook and began writing the check.
"I know a lovely cruise that will change your mind," Ji said happily, handing the check to Top.
"And my father?" Ji asked.
"I'll tell him I'm watching you," Top replied, looking at the check for an amount higher than what he had asked for.
"Best wishes," Top said, putting the check in the front pocket of his jacket, as Ji got into his car smiling.
"Thank you," Ji said, already inside the car, finally free, while Top walked along the sidewalk heading in the opposite direction from where Ji was driving.
When Ji had driven a few meters and lost sight of Top, he came across an injured motorcyclist lying in the middle of the highway, clearly leading Ji to believe there had been an accident. He stopped his car. Suddenly, the injured man got up and smashed Ji's window with a baseball bat, forcing him out of the car in a struggle. Once Ji was out, the man punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, and got back into the car. He immediately started the engine and sped away, leaving Jiyong lying on the ground, stunned. At that moment, Ji saw Top running at full speed to his rescue, passing him by and running after the car that had just been taken from Jiyong, who was watching everything intently. Then the car made a U-turn, accelerating and hitting Top who was running after the car. Top was slammed against the windshield of the car without letting go, accelerating again. All of this was captured by Ji's eyes, who kept watching Top hugging himself when he could no longer see the car or Top.
.................................................................................
Upon reaching a safe zone still close to where Ji was, the car stopped smoothly, Top climbed down from the windshield as well, while a masked Bae got out of the vehicle.
"That was a good punch," Top said, adjusting his tie.
"Okay, okay," Top said, catching his breath.
"Bae, the bag," Top called, opening the car door.
"It's a Dolce, tell him you couldn't get it back," Bae said, taking off his motorcycle helmet.
"The bag," Top ordered.
"How annoying," Bae said, reluctantly handing over the bag.
-Hey! Hyung, you're forgetting something – Bae said, now with all his clothes changed.
"Oh shit!" Top whispered, closing the car door.
"Well, you..." Top began hesitantly as Bae threw a powerful punch at his face, breaking his lip, while Top just held his face with both hands trying not to scream in pain.
After a few minutes, Top returned in Ji's car to meet him. Ji was walking back to the shopping area, looking completely terrified. Top stopped the car when he saw him walking. Ji slowly approached the car, his expression a mixture of curiosity and fear on his face. When Top got out with his bag, he sighed in relief.
"Are you okay?" Ji asked as she saw Top approaching after getting out of the car.
"You're bleeding," Ji said worriedly as Top brought his hand to his face searching for the wound.
"Oh yes, it's nothing," Top said calmly, looking for Ji's gaze as she searched for a handkerchief in her pocket.
"And are you okay?" Top asked sweetly.
"Yes," Ji replied, handing him her handkerchief.
"Thank you," Top replied, immediately wiping himself clean.
"I should be the one thanking you," Ji replied, looking at Top, taking the check out of Top's front pocket, tearing it up, and heading to the passenger seat of the car.
"Shall we go?" Ji asked, looking kindly at Top, while Top smiled inwardly, still bleeding from his nose and lip, walking toward the driver's side. All of this was observed by the giant hulk of his creditor.
Back at the hotel, Bae, who was now working as a waiter, was called by the hotel manager.
"Excuse me," the administrator called to Bae.
"This morning you were a servant, a valet, a waiter, who exactly are you?" the manager asked Bae.
"Actually, I should be happy, I'm not asking for a raise," Bae said, as he saw Jiyong appear followed by Top.
"Good morning, Mr. Kwon," Bae greeted, distracting the manager and fleeing the place.
"Hello Mr. Kwon," said the administrator, who, upon turning around, could find no trace of Bae.
.....................................................................................................
"They should put up a sign for us," Top said, driving.
"Excuse me?" Ji asked, confused.
"A secret word, if there's any problem, you shout the word and I'll run towards you," Top explained while Ji looked at him strangely.
"I know my job, we need a secret word," Top said, sounding somewhat pleading.
"Bag," Ji said.
"Huh?" Top said, confused.
"Bag is the word," Ji indicated.
"Is this a joke?" asked Top as he turned a corner in his car.
"No, you have a better idea," Ji asked, annoyed at not being taken into account, while Top shook his head and looked in the rearview mirror as Bae and Dae followed them in a van with an antenna included, just at that moment the radio station changed letting you hear Daesung's harmonious voice.
-The program is full of good humor, coconut trees and clams, we start with Marron 5 and the song This Love – Daesung cheered as a radio announcer from the van that Top followed playing the song that Ji liked so much.
When the song started playing, Top began tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat, while Ji unconsciously moved his finger and leg to the rhythm as well. Top, in his deep, resonant voice, began humming parts of the song, catching Ji's attention, though Ji was trying to hide her interest at the time. When the chorus came, Top brazenly sang along, while Ji looked at him with a slightly indignant expression.
"Sorry," Top apologized, immediately falling silent and focusing his gaze on the road.
By the last verse of the chorus, when Ji thought Top wasn't looking at him, tilting his head towards the window, he was silently singing the song he loved so much, catching Top's attention as he looked at him in the mirror, smiling discreetly.
They arrived at their destination. Top hurried to get off to follow Ji.
"Do you like it?" Ji asked, pointing to the decorations that would be for her wedding.
"It's wonderful," Top replied.
"Excuse me," Top said as his phone started ringing, letting Ji go ahead to answer it.
-Yes – Top answered the phone
"Has she already succumbed to the charms of the bodyguard?" Seo Han asked over the phone.
"I'm working on it," Top replied without taking his eyes off Ji.
"It would go faster if you told me everything," Top said over the phone.
"How?" Seo Han asked.
"Why doesn't Mr. Kwon want this wedding to happen?" Top asked as Ji's father listened over the speakerphone, asking Seo Han for his phone.
"I pay you to act, not to ask questions, is that clear?" Ji's father threatened, hanging up on Top.
"It's very clear," Top said with a sigh, finishing urinating in a bush nearby when he suddenly heard Ji shout the emergency word.
"Bag, BAG!" Ji shouted, making Top hurry up and stop urinating, carelessly zipping up his fly as he ran to help Ji.
"Shit!" Top cursed.
"Come on, I'll shout 'Bachelor,' and he'll come right away," Jiyong said, showing off in front of his planner and some friends, provoking laughter from them and the workers of the place when they saw Top with his fly open, while he just frowned in annoyance.
