Half-demon
[Ep.4]

Without even realizing it, I fell into a deep sleep for the first time in a long time, without even dreaming. I didn't even realize it if someone just took me away.

While she was lost in that dream for a long time, she heard the faint murmur of people. The female protagonist opened her eyes to the muttering, and when she did, she saw a clean street she hadn't seen in a long time, with people walking around normally.

And more than anything, her mind couldn't process why she was in Seungcheol's arms right now. As she stared at Seungcheol, bewildered, Seungcheol, noticing that Yeoju was awake, spoke to her, her eyes wide open.

"Are you awake?

"You're sleeping so soundly that I'm afraid I'll become a bad monster if I wake you up."

Seeing Seungcheol speaking with a bright smile, the woman who was at a loss for words felt a pang of regret and said she would walk, getting out of Seungcheol's arms. Then, looking around, she asked Seungcheol where she was.

"Where is this place?"

"This is Marmaul"

Marmaul Village was one of the villages Yeoju had heard about from her mother. She remembered the emerald sea surrounding Marmaul Village and the distinctive smell of waves.

But I wondered why he had come here. And Seungcheol continued speaking.

"How about here? Isn't it pretty?"

"Yes... It's been so long since I've seen a sight like this... It's amazing."

"Actually, I came here because I had a chance to stop by Marmaul."

"You woke up well before we arrived."

"The sea here is really pretty."

Saying that, Seungcheol took Yeoju to a place where the sound of the ocean could be heard loudly. Seungcheol smiled and showed Yeoju the beautiful blue emerald sea. The moment Yeoju saw the sea, it felt like time had stopped. It was so beautiful.

The emerald blue water shone even more beautifully with each crash. And now, Yeoju was busy taking in this scenery. Her gaze was fixed on the sea, and she could only exclaim in admiration.

"Wow... this place is really pretty."

"Right??"

Seungcheol couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Yeoju, completely absorbed in the sea, and watched it alongside her until she took it all in. Seungcheol's heart also felt at ease as the sea, which was just as beautiful no matter how many times he looked at it. Yeoju, who had been taking in the sea for a long time, couldn't quite capture it all, but he had already taken in a good portion. Then, he looked up at Seungcheol, who smiled and said to her.

""You can see the sea even when you walk down the street here."

"But be careful, if you get too absorbed in the ocean view, you might fall."

Yeoju said she understood, grabbed Seungcheol's clothes, and walked alongside him, taking in both the village streets and the sea in her eyes. Then she thought. If that hadn't happened, Felicia Village would be this pretty. It was a sad thought that passed through her mind for a moment, but Yeoju decided that there was nothing she could do by continuing to be sad now that she was here. She looked around intently again.

And Seungcheol unconsciously smiled at the sight of Yeoju, thought for a moment, and flicked his hand. And in Seungcheol's hand was a large conch shell. Yeoju, seeing it, was amazed and exclaimed, "As expected, a monster is a monster." Seungcheol said he would know when he heard it, and brought the conch shell to Yeoju's ear.

And inside the conch shell, which she had placed to her ear, the sound of waves echoed, echoing within her ears. Yeoju looked at Seungcheol, amazed, and Seungcheol simply smiled and said, "Isn't that amazing?" Yeoju nodded and continued.

"Wow... that's amazing!"

"You can hear the sound of waves in the sky... I can hear the sound of waves over there too."

"It's amazing to hear it from both sides!"

"Really? Do you hear the sound of the waves over there?

"yes!"

Seungcheol seemed slightly surprised by Yeoju's words. One reason was that from their current location, the ocean was barely audible. For a normal human, that is.

Seungcheol, a monster, had better hearing than most humans, so he could faintly hear the sound of waves. But when Yeoju said she could hear it too, he was puzzled. He simply assumed Yeoju had good hearing, so he gave her a conch shell and walked down the street.

After walking and walking for a few minutes, they arrived at a building. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary house. Yeoju swallowed, slightly nervous, thinking it was a monster house Seungcheol knew. Seungcheol grabbed the doorknob and led her inside.

The house she entered like that surprised the female protagonist. It was clearly an ordinary house from the outside, but when she went inside, it was as spacious as a luxurious mansion, and the floor was polished to a shine without a speck of dust. The female protagonist was astonished, her mouth wide open, and she turned her head here and there to look around. It was as if time and space had been distorted, and she wondered how the outside and inside could be so different.

"Isn't it amazing?"

"yes!.."

Seungcheol shrugged and held Yeoju's wrist tightly as they arrived at what looked like a counter. On the counter was what seemed to be the name of the building.

It said "J accommodation" and had a picture of a bed next to it. I looked inside the counter and saw the back of a person's head. The person also turned around as if they sensed the presence.

"Welcome.."

"What? It's Choi Seung-cheol."

"You came so quickly. I thought you were going to rest."

That person, no, that man, looked at Seungcheol and spoke with a bright smile, and to be honest, that man's face was really handsome. At first, I thought Seungcheol was handsome when I saw him, but this person who was smiling here was showing off his facial features just as much as Seungcheol.

""I came a little early because something came up."

"Work? By the way, next to you..."

The man, now seeing the female protagonist, flinched in surprise and his eyes widened. Then, unlike before, he raised his voice and spoke to Seungcheol.

"Hey you Choi... no, S.Coups, what if you bring a human??!"

"Hey, hey, lower your voice!!.."

And Seungcheol, who heard the man's loud voice, was surprised and seemed to be looking around, telling the man to lower his voice. The people around him seemed to be looking in their direction because of the loud voice, and the man who had shouted sighed deeply and seemed to calm down. By the way, that man also seemed to be a monster because he said "human." Well, the fact that he was in this space made him seem less than human. Seungcheol, seeing the man in his true form, sighed deeply himself and continued speaking.

""There are circumstances, so that's why"

"I'll be here for a few days."

"About 1-2 days?"

"Huh? It's been a while since I've come to visit, so please just let me go this time."

Seungcheol smiled brightly, reached out, and magically pulled a key from behind the man at the counter. He held it in his hand, then held the woman's hand tightly again and climbed up the stairs. The man at the counter, though clearly smiling, spoke softly in a voice laced with emotion.

"Ha.. I told you to get to know that stubborn guy Choi Seung-cheol.."

"It's all very selfish, it's all very selfish."

So Seungcheol and Yeoju stood in front of the room and went straight inside. As soon as they entered, they met Yeoju's eye level and opened their mouths.

""Lady, listen to what I say."

"I hope this doesn't happen"

"If anyone tries to enter this room while I'm away, never open the door."

"Even if it's my voice, you must never open it."

"You understand?"

The woman nodded at Seungcheol's serious expression. Seungcheol said, relieved, "Then it's okay!"

With those words, he fell down on the sofa and stuck his head out to speak to the female protagonist again.

"But, Miss Yeoju, can I ask you just one question?"

"What is it?"

"Miss Yeoju, when you were young, did your mother ever tell you to be especially careful?"

"Um... I don't think there was anything in particular..."

"is it so?"

After hearing Yeoju's answer, Seungcheol muttered, "Am I mistaken?" and said it was nothing. The two of them had a brief conversation and sat on a chair in front of the window, looking out at the scenery. Before they knew it, the sky had darkened, and Yeoju had fallen asleep leaning against the chair while talking to Seungcheol. Seungcheol ran his hand through Yeoju's hair.

""You shouldn't keep falling asleep in places like this."

After saying that, he lifted the female protagonist into his arms and laid her on the bed. Then, with the words "Good night," he walked towards the entrance of the dorm, cast some kind of spell, and then stepped out of the room.

He walked to the counter, where the man from before was still standing. The moment he saw Seungcheol, his expression changed, and he looked as if he was about to punch him. Seungcheol managed to calm himself down and began asking about the same thing he'd asked Yeoju earlier.

"Jeonghan, I have a question.

"What is it?"

"Do you know about half-demons?"

What came out of Seungcheol's mouth was none other than a half-demon. I'd heard about half-demon things before, but I couldn't remember them exactly, so I asked Jeonghan, who had some knowledge about these things.

"Half-demon?"

"Well, I know to some extent."

According to Jeonghan, "half-demons" are a race that has long since vanished from the world, a race that can be said to be a cross between humans and demons. While half-demons appear human in their natural state, when they bleed, they become a being more alluring than anything else to demons. In other words, half-demons' blood is like an inescapable swamp to demons.

"But, it's been a while since the half-demon disappeared from the world."

"Right... maybe I just saw it wrong?"

"what?"

""It's nothing"

So Seungcheol and Jeonghan exchanged pleasantries and various other topics. Suddenly, Seungcheol's expression hardened. Jeonghan, seeing this, looked at Seungcheol with a questioning look. Seungcheol gave a hollow laugh and, with a single word, quickly headed up the stairs.

""Some little rat has set foot in a place he shouldn't be."
